Al-Rihan Grotto:
Al-Rihan Grotto is located on the eastern slope of the town of Al-Rihan. It was discovered about ninety years ago by one of the builders from the town, the late Hajj Ahmad Hajj Awad, during the fall of the hammer among the rocks in the thirties of the last century.
The wars, especially the Israeli occupation of Lebanon, delayed the completion of works that lead to opening it to visitors.
After the liberation of the south in the year 2000, the successive municipalities thankfully and the current municipality began to work on rehabilitating the cave by constructing the entrances and halls, preparing the perimeter, the cafeteria, a private parking lot, gardens, internal corridors, and special lighting, and then highlighting it as an important tourist landmark in the south, if not in Lebanon, of what it contains. From the stunning and dazzling views that simulate the Jeita Grotto
In the grotto, which has a ready-made distance of about 300 meters, there are various objects resembling specific shapes, such as a bell, the fruit of two picklings, what looks like a mother embracing a child, and other beautiful natural scenes that tell about themselves. The municipality also established safe paths to walk inside the cave comfortably, allowing the visitor to walk well and have a clear vision.
There are sections that have not been opened yet, and we hope that they will one day become a place for your visitors from Lebanon and the world
We hope the honorable visitors not to touch any of the constituent parts of the cave, including stalagmites, stalactites and various shapes, in order to preserve them. We also hope to cooperate with the special work team for the good and success of the visit.
With full welcome and thanks
