Tonight is a special tour to view the lights.

Our rental bikes are available year round, but through May 18 we will have a pause in our tours as we support and co-founder, as she supports leaders in accessing their courage and embracing their differences for a life and way of leading in freedom.

When we started we combined two passions, well three…

Surfing, pedal biking the jungle roads, and sharing the beauty of Sri Lanka 💎

We do pedal bike tours through the river paddies and villages…

As well as surf guiding.

Aja will take you to the best surf spots around, share local knowledge for the best (safest/easiest) way to access the break, and if you’re a big wave rider like he is, get barreled! 🤙🌊🤙🌊

Hence, the barrel wave in our logo!

Or do a combo of everything - like in this photo - and take a pedal bike tour to your surf spot, or meet up with Coach for a surf lesson. Yewwww! 🤙

Want to get around without needing petrol or 3-wheeler? We’ve got you.

We have a fleet of bikes for rent (more Jungle Rides color coming soon!), and they are going quickly!

Short term and month to month pricing available.

Great exercise, increases calm in this troubling time by getting closer to nature, supports a local family. All bikes are regularly serviced at our on site repair shop, now operating 55 years.

When you experience Ahangama by pedal bike it is unlike anything else…in a tuk tuk or on a motorbike you may take in the view, but at a pace too fast for what the jungle affords you to see and feel…but what’s really missing is the feel of the jungle breeze, and most especially all the sounds from all the creatures and nature pouring through the jungle and rice paddy fields.

On a pedal bike you can reconnect with yourself, with nature, and to all beings by being fully present and aware.

We are OPEN 🔥Come ride with us!

We offer an array of pedal bike tours through the paddy fields and jungle, and customized surf guiding.

We bike between Koggala and Weligama, depending on your tour of choice. And we surf based on ability and conditions from Galle to Mirissa.

Our shop is joint space with Sriyacyle bicycle repair on the main road in Ahangama. We are just down the street from our friendly neighbors, and … rise and shine, grab a coffee, and meet us on the roadside and away we’ll go!

We started with one bike and have expanded to three. Starting small allows us to grow organically with your support 💕🚲

Aja’s family has operated a bicycle repair shop in Ahangama for nearly 60 years, now run by ayya Shantha at the same location as This means we can promise the bikes are super well cared for and always ready for your adventure!

Meet Aja! Co-creator, founder, and operator of Jungle Rides by Aja!

✨Aja created Jungle Rides by Aja as a perfect blend between his passion for surfing and the freedom x beauty of the ocean, and his love for nature appreciated via unique pedal bike rides through the jungle roads.

🌊🚲He's an ISA certified surf coach and has worked at surf camps in Ahangama for nearly the past decade. He began surfing at age 15, and pedal biking through the jungle and all over the area long before that.

🌱Fun facts: Aja is knowledgeable about Ayurvedic herbal healing and is a talented sand sculptor!

🎉Pssssttt...Today is his BIRTHDAY! Let's celebrate him with lots of love and cheer as he and his family navigate the continued lockdown in Sri Lanka and are hopeful and eager to host you very soon!

Jungle Rides by Aja was born out of the COVID-19 3rd wave in Sri Lanka as a co-creative solution to the economic crisis to combat the devastation to local families working in the travel and tourism industry ✈️

and as a way to inspire hope and honor the fact that we all deserve to be seen. ✨

We are an Ahangama, Sri Lanka based guided pedal bike and surf tour company founded in July 2021. 🚲 🏄🏾‍♀️
