Important Notice for passengers arriving in Sri Lanka



As per the latest update from the authorities following changes are effective for passengers arriving in Sri Lanka.

ü Submission of Health Declaration form is not required.

ü No quarantine requirement for passengers who are fully vaccinated or arriving with a negative Covid -19 Test (PCR/RAT).



Since 01st March 2022 fully vaccinated travellers do not need to take COVID-19 tests (PCR or Rapid Antigen test) before travelling to Sri Lanka.

Guidelines for passengers arriving in Sri Lanka:



Pre-Departure Testing.



Unvaccinated/partially vaccinated persons of 12 years and above should mandatorily carry a negative COVID-19 PCR test report done within 72 Hours OR Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) report within 48 Hours of Departure flight into Sri Lanka (Self-swabs are not allowed.) They will be exempted from on-arrival testing.



Persons with a history of COVID-19 infection more than 6 months before the date of departure with a single dose of two-dose vaccine are NOT considered as fully vaccinated and should arrive with a negative pre-boarding COVID-19 test. They will be exempted from on-arrival testing.



Pre-Departure & arrival testing exemptions



Fully vaccinated persons who have obtained recommended doses of COVID-19 vaccine and depart two weeks after obtaining the vaccine



Children below 12 years of age



Children of twelve years to eighteen years, if depart two weeks after obtaining at least a single dose of Pfizer/Moderna Vaccine. (Considered as Fully Vaccinated)



Persons who have taken at least a single dose of a two-dose vaccine and COVID-19 infection during the past six months or persons who had COVID-19 infection within the past six months and after the infection taken a single dose of two-dose vaccine. (Considered as Fully Vaccinated)



Quarantine requirement



No quarantine requirement for passengers who are fully vaccinated or arriving with a negative Covid -19 Test (PCR/RAT).

All travelers to Sri Lanka will be banned from May 21 to May 31.

The Civil Aviation Authority of Sri Lanka (CAASL) has announced that flights will be suspended from 11.59 pm on May 21 to 11.59 pm on May 31.

CAASL President Upul Dharmadasa said the decision was taken in view of the current situation of corona virus in Sri Lanka.

However, he added that passengers would be allowed to leave Sri Lanka during this period.

எதிர்வரும் மே 21 முதல் மே 31 வரை இலங்கையில் அனைத்து பயணிகள் வருகையும் தடை செய்யப்படும் என்று தெரிவிக்கப்படுகின்றது.

இலங்கை சிவில் விமானப் போக்குவரத்து ஆணையம் (CAASL) விமான வருகை மே 21 ஆம் திகதி இரவு 11.59 மணி முதல் மே 31 ஆம் திகதி இரவு 11.59 வரை நிறுத்தப்படும் என்று தெரிவித்துள்ளது.

இலங்கையில் தற்போதைய கொரோனா வைரஸ் நிலைமையைக் கருத்தில் கொண்டு இந்த முடிவு எடுக்கப்பட்டுள்ளதாக CAASL தலைவர் உபுல் தர்மதாச தெரிவித்தார்.

எவ்வாறாயினும், இந்த காலகட்டத்தில் பயணிகள் இலங்கையை விட்டு வெளியேற அனுமதிக்கப்படுவார்கள் என்றும் அவர் மேலும் தெரிவித்தார்.

COLOMBO : Airline or transit passengers from Sri Lanka will not be permitted to leave for Dubai, Kuwait, Italy, Maldives and Singapore until May 31, according to Airport and Aviation Services (Sri Lanka) (Private) Limited.

This was announced today by its Vice Chairman, Rajeewasiri Sooriyaarachchi.

The UAE has announced a suspension of entry for travellers from Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal, and Sri Lanka with effect from Wednesday in a bid to contain the spread of the Covid-19 pandemic.

After the UAE, Kuwait has also announced the suspension of flights to and from the four south Asian countries.

The Maldives has also barred travellers from a number of South Asian countries including Sri Lanka in the wake of COVID-19 outbreak.

Rules for travel from India, and effective 12 May 2021, 23:59 Dubai time – for travel from Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka

Only the following categories of passengers will be allowed entry to Dubai: members of diplomatic missions, holders of UAE golden visa, UAE nationals, passengers exempted and/or granted permission to enter the UAE by the appropriate authorities as well as passengers travelling on a business flight who have a valid COVID 19 PCR test certificate.

Passengers exempted from the travel restriction must comply with the following:

Passengers must have a valid COVID‑19 test certificate issued within 48 hours of the time of sample collection and scheduled flight departure.
Only COVID‑19 PCR test reports from certified labs that issue a QR code linked to the original report will be accepted.
Passengers must undergo COVID‑19 PCR testing on arrival in Dubai, followed by two other PCR tests on the 4th day and 8th day of their quarantine period.
Passengers must sign an indemnity document for a 10‑day home or hotel quarantine, starting from the day of arrival.
Passengers must download the DXB COVID‑19 app upon arrival at Dubai airports and provide all the required information.
All passengers who have travelled from or transited through India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the last 14 days will not be accepted for travel to or transfer through Dubai from any other point except for returning UAE nationals.
