Did you know that today, February 29th, only comes around every four years? This special day is called a leap year, and it was created to keep our calendar in sync with the Earth's revolution around the sun.

Here's the story:

A year on Earth doesn't perfectly equal 365 days, it's actually a little bit longer (365.242 days). Over time, this small difference would cause the seasons to drift out of alignment with our calendar.

To fix this, Julius Caesar (Roman emperor) introduced the leap year in 45 BC, adding an extra day to February every four years (except for specific exceptions).

So, to all the special froggies out there celebrating a birthday on this unique day, Happy Leap Year Birthday! May your once-in-four-year celebration be extra special, filled with joy and happiness.

In 1992 Australia toured Sri Lanka for two match test series & three match ODIs series, Australia was itching for a clean slay & Sri Lanka was also ready for any challenge that throws upon them.
With a nail-biting last over victory Sri Lanka claimed the first match in ODI series. However, Aussies returned the favor in few days by winning the test series.

The test defeats hurt the lions, but they quickly rose up from the ashes, won the second & third ODIs, giving australia taste of series defeat in home soil.

It has been 30 years since that day, it all started when Sri Lanka was facing the 3rd T20 match which the series was done and dusted 2-0 Aussie victory. A mammoth task of 60 runs in 20 balls were required by & to save the home side from a clean sweep. The 54 runs half-century in 25 balls by the skipper included 4-sixes & 5 boundaries & took the team over the finishing line in the last ball of the match.

This momentum was carried to the ODIs by the Sri Lanka Cricket, but the first ODI Aussies won with the support of DL scoring. But the Sri Lanka Cricket made a comeback by wining the second ODI bringing the momentum back, then again won the third ODI and showing what they are made of. The top & middle order batters & made their maiden ODI centuries in consecutive matches paved the path to win 4th ODI leading and securing the five match series by 3-1.

24th June, lions will be eyeing on another victory to make the series 4-1, Aussies will be ready to show their come back and regain lost honor.

But the hot topic of the town is the second test match on 08 July 2022, which will be played in Galle. This is special because Sri Lankan Cricket dedicating the match in the honour of the legend leg spinner .
