Wahakotte Mama... our closest neighbor... a true ledgend, at 82 years of age, he is the oldest farmer in the area. You can see him working in his paddy field or chena each day despite his age. A man with a big heart, lots of interesting stories and a wealth of knowledge. When he had first come to Siyambala Wawa area to start his chena cultivation (slash and burn cultivation) in 1971 it has been nothing but thick jungle full of wild animals. He has lived in a treehouse all by him self for many years, doing his farming. He has cured thousands of people from various illnesses and evil spirits with his chants, Buddha Mantras as he calls them. He comes to our farm everyday to chew some betel (bulath vita), share some interesting stories and his knowledge. We wish him good health 🙏
