Sigiriya Lion Rock is an ancient rock fortress known for its massive column of rock that reaches nearly 200 meters high. The site dates back to the reign of King Kasyapa (477-495 AD), who chose this site as his new capital. Galboda waterfall
This waterfall is located near the Galboda railway station on the Colombo Badulla railway line.
As Galboda Falls is located between Watawala and Nawalapitiya, rainfall and cold climate are always seen in this area. It is about 100 feet high and 2-3 m wide. The easiest way to visit the waterfall is to come from the railway station. It is possible to come from Colombo by 5.50 morning train to Badulla, see the falls and return to Colombo on the same day.

General information about Mirissa
Mirissa is a small town and beach resort area in southern Sri Lanka on the Indian Ocean (Mirissa on the map of Sri Lanka). Mirissa was formed first as a purely tourist resort area, and only then there was a modest urban infrastructure. There are almost no houses of local residents here, everything is focused only on tourism. In addition to tourism, the village lives on fishing, most of which, again, is focused on guests of the resort.
The first tourist hotel appeared here in 1980, and the place turned out to be so successful that in the 90s it began to develop rapidly, and today it has become one of the most attractive beach resorts in the South. Balapitiya, a suburb of Ahungalla, is the beach closest to Sri Lanka’s most beloved wetlands, the Madu Ganga river system. The village at the western coast of Galle District is situated on a spit between Madu Ganga Lake and the ocean. Balapitiya beach is the coastal strip between the more frequented beach of Ahungalla further north, famous for Geoffrey Bawa’s architectural masterpeace Heritance Ahungalle, and the river mouth of Madu Ganga, where the boat safaris usually start.

Balapitiya Beach is a great place to swim and relax. You may get a drink from a juice bar closeby and get under your sun umbrella while relaxing.

You can reach to the starting point of this hike from Mathale town by vehicles. There are enough parking spaces here. There are a few small joints selling snacks and drinks here. To reach the mountain top where telecom towers situated, you have to walk about 2km. It'll take about an hour to reach the top.
There's nothing much to see other than the surrounding mountains or abandoned telecom towers. The area is bit cold. The road is clear and there are steps to reach the peak.
