As the founder of Galkadawala Forest Lodge in Habarana, Sri Lanka, I made a pivotal shift in 2006, transitioning from a 20-year career as a merchandiser in the Sri Lankan Apparel Industry to pursue my passion. My vision was to reforest a denuded land and establish a sustainable tourist venture, emphasizing recycling, repurposing, and reusing building materials. Galkadawala embodies a traditional lifestyle of moderation, now a sought-after expectation among our guests. Living on-site, I take pleasure in observing and studying the flourishing biodiversity that has evolved at Galkadawala. Sharing the bounties of nature with our guests is a source of joy and fulfillment for me.
