There are shared bathrooms on site and we will organise everything you need, including tents, sleeping bags, mattresses and food supplies. Providing breakfast, lunch and a barbecue dinner, Haputale Eco Lodge is also happy to host bonfire nights. Relax with your fellow guests around a crackling fire, whilst feasting on delicious food and looking at the stars (there is no light pollution here). Hiking in the heart of Sri Lanka:

The lodge’s location in the heart of the tea country makes it an excellent base for exploring the most scenic parts of Sri Lanka’s . As you make your way to and from the campsite you will see Sri Lankan women picking tea leaves from the tea plantation. We have plenty of experience walking all sections of the route and our expert guides can help you to make the most of exploring Sri Lanka by foot.

Haputale is easily accessed by tuktuk, car, bus or train. It is 1 hour from Ella by railway or driving. By bus, the journey from Ella will take around 1.5 hours. Additional information:

Please note, Haputale Eco Lodge may not be appropriate for those with limited mobility. There are steps and a 1km walk to reach the campsite.
