Consult your doctor and get the proper vaccines before traveling. Ensure that any prescription pills are filled for some days extra than the intended length of your travel.
It is also important to eat healthy food. Therefore, be very careful about the quality and cleanliness of the food you get, as well as whether it is suitable for your body.

The last capital of Sri Lanka's ancient kings.
Kandy, a UNESCO World Heritage site, stands as the last capital of Sri Lanka's ancient kings. Nestled within its verdant hills is the revered Temple of the Tooth, which cradles the Buddha's sacred relic. This relic, symbolizing the living Buddha, has been a spiritual beacon for Buddhists for centuries. Historically, the tooth relic's possession signified governance, with kings seeking its blessings for prosperity and protection. The temple's grandeur reflects diverse architectural influences, from traditional Kandyan designs to intricate Indo-Aryan motifs. Each year, the temple's cultural vibrancy shines during the Esala Perahera, a grand procession drawing thousands with its displays of traditional arts and music.
Many Buddhists globally journey to this sanctuary, immersing themselves in Sri Lanka's rich history, art, and traditions. The temple offers glimpses of traditional Kandyan performances, evoking a profound spiritual experience. Its from the golden roof to delicate carvings, mesmerizes visitors. Beyond its tangible marvels, the Temple of the Tooth epitomizes values of peace, unity, and reverence, standing as a testament to Sri Lanka's historical legacy.

To ensure a respectful visit, visitors are advised to observe Puja times at 5.45am 6:30am 10:30am and 6:30pm dress modestly with shoulders and knees covered, preferably in white, and remove shoes upon entering."

The Knuckles Mountain Range
The Knuckles Mountain Range, often referred to as the 'Misty Mountains,' is a majestic part of Sri Lanka's central highlands, nestled between the districts of Kandy and Matale. Spanning approximately 155 square kilometers, this biodiverse region is characterized by its rugged terrain, steep peaks, and deep valleys.
The Knuckles is renowned for its rich biodiversity, serving as a sanctuary for a plethora of flora and fauna, some of which are endemic to this region. Over 200 species of birds, including the Sri Lanka spurfowl and Sri Lanka blue magpie, flutter amidst the trees, making it a paradise for birdwatchers. Additionally, the region is home to several endangered species such as the Sri Lankan leopard and purple-faced langur.
For those with an adventurous spirit, the Knuckles offers a myriad of trekking and hiking trails, ranging from easy walks to challenging climbs. These trails meander through dense forests, passing by crystal-clear streams, ancient villages, and terraced paddy fields, providing glimpses into the traditional agrarian lifestyle of the local communities.
Cultural enthusiasts will find the Knuckles equally captivating, as the area is dotted with archaeological sites, ancient temples, and remnants of early civilizations. Nine Arch Bridge

One of the worth seeing highlights in the Mountain village of Ella! The Nine Arch Bridge in Demodara near Ella is a clear-cut example of the railway construction in Sri Lanka during the British colonial era. Also called as the Bridge in the sky, it is a beautiful and unsophisticated viaduct train bridge that stretches across around 91 meters with a total of 9 spans amidst the lushly vegetated foliage on both sides. The so-called most beautiful train ride in the world, the Ella to Kandy train ride runs near the Nine Arch Bridge. The spectacle of greenery in the surroundings and the architectural wow-factors of the bridge draw large hoards of tourists here.

With a cluster of nine spans made from stones, bricks, and cement, the Nine Arch Bridge near Ella covers a length of 91.44 meters with a width of 7.62 meters at a soaring height of 24.38 meters. It was made without a single piece of steel.
History says the Nine Arch Bridge in Ella was fulfilled in 1921.

When the construction got hard due to the gap between the hills and the marshy land beneath, Appuhami took over and pulled on an incredible performance by furnishing the ground with hard rocks and like that; at a lot less cost and time.

A peaceful walk of couple minutes shall get you here. Coming from Ella town, it is more fun if you walk along the railway track. You will reach a tunnel and the bridge is just around the corner then. The easiest of all is just taking a tuk-tuk from Ella that shall drop you off just near the tunnel.

Lovers Leap fall Height : 30 meters District : Nuwara Eliya This beautiful 30m high Lovers Leap fall in Nuwara Eliya is incipient of the streams and brooks of Sri Lanka’s highest mountain, the Piduruthalagala (2524m). It flows over hard granite ledges and the water is collected in a tank and used for drinking. In dry spells, the flow is languid The fall is said to derive its name from the tragic tale of a prince, who while hunting in the jungle, lost his way. He was rescued by a beautiful damsel, and the two became inseparable lovers. But the match was not to the liking of the prince’s subjects, so the two decided to immortalise their love by leaping from the top of the fall to their death.
