The amazing and extremely marvelous wood carving, which exhibit the pride of Ceylon. These are basically sculptural ornamentation of wood, hand-worked with a great patience. Chisels and carving knives are utilized to make this amazing piece of art into reality. The details in the carvings are worthy to be praised. Sri Lanka is extremely rich in detailing and showcasing. So this can be counted as a combination of creativity and skills which signify our heritage.

Breakfast, the most important meal of the day. Imagine having a square meal. The following platter consist of freshly plucked plantains, passion fruit and jack fruit, with the very famous, halapa, which is basically a sweet bite to go made from milet grown locally mixed with a dab of sweetness, in addition there is “kavum”, which is also known as oil cake. Overall this is a sweet and a healthy breakfast dish. Highly recommend trying this if you are willing to experience the real Sri Lankaness. ☀️

Helga's Folly in old Ceylon, Vivien Leigh took up with her costar Peter Finch--while her philandering husband, Laurence Olivier, remained
maddeninely calm”

It was in these brightly hued and whimsical rooms at Helga's 'Folly in Kandy, Ceylon (now Sri Lanka), that Vivien Leigh arrived to live during the filming of William Dieterle's potboiler The Elephant Walk in 1953. The hotel had been designed, built, and decorated high on the hills overlooking Kandy Lake and Dala-da Maligawa temple in the early '30s by arts and crafts maven Esmé de Silva. The movie's producer, Irving Asher, had hoped that Laurence Olivier would take the opportunity to come there to play against his wife, but Olivier--caught up in postproduction on The Beggar's Opera and an affair with the actress Dorothy Tutin- could not tear himself from London. Leigh smilingly told Asher and Olivier not to worry, that she already had a leading man: the young Peter Finch, whose own marriage was disinte-grating. Thus commenced Leigh's plan for romantic retaliation.
Once installed at Helga's, Leigh and Finch began drinking heavily. And in these rooms, the two became lovers. (Leigh had often complained of Olivier's poor showing in the bedroom, and Finch was well known for his sexual prowess.) But huge rows ensued. Finch's marriage may have been in trouble, but he soon made it clear to Leigh that she was only one of many relationships in his life. Leigh, in return, went to pieces -tear-ing up the Bible by her bed on one occasion. Her already fragile health took a turn for the worse, and Asher, unable to reason with his volatile star and confused as to whether her earsplitting tantrums were caused by drinking, a nervous break-
down, great acting (and acting-out), or a combination thereof, summoned
Olivier from England.
When Olivier arrived he instantly realized that his wife and friend had become paramours, but he remained stoic, even wry. As he said of Finch, "Was he not doing what I had done to her first husband?" So, after a short stay the great actor wished everybody luck, turned around, and curtly left Leigh with Finch at Helga's Folly. The silence must have been deafening.

Thank you all for keeping touch With SKYFEATHER. Tourism industry in Sri Lanka suffocated due to the impact of Covid and followed huge economic crises for last 3 years time.
Somehow we were able to travel around the island facing many issues but with people from different countries who loved to visit vivid Sri Lanka with us could feel nothing else but happiness of a tropical tour..
We didn’t update our page much due to lack to contents as we never post anything else than something related to travel and holidays. as we concern our main goal is providing boundless travel informations of Sri Lanka with you all.
In future we plans to update latest pictures and videos we have collected about hidden locations of Sri Lanka and none touristic trails in island plus off beaten path itineraries because we care about exotic but unique itineraries to offer for those who will visit Sri Lanka in future than common tourist areas.
