Udawalawe National Park 🐘🐒🐘
Udawalawe National Park, the sixth largest animal sanctuary of Sri Lanka is located 180 km from Colombo in south-central sector of the island. Udawalawe National Park was establish in the year 1972, with the objective of protecting the catchment area of Udawalawe reservoir, which provides water for agriculture.

Udawalawe National Park is home to 184 species of birds (33 of which are migratory), 94 kinds of plants, 21 fish, 12 amphibians, 33 reptiles, 43 mammals, and 135 species of butterflies, in addition to its amazing population of Asian elephants which is one of the best national parks for wildlife tour in Sri Lanka and bird watching tours in Sri Lanka. The main attraction of the park is the Water Buffalo, Wildboar, Spotted Deer, Sambur Deer, Jackal, Samber, Black-naped hare, mongooses, bandicoots, foxes, as the endemic Toque Macaque and Gray Langers. Bundala National Park🐘🐏🐂

Situated in the Southern Province, close to Hambantota, The Bundala National Park considered the most important birding destination in Sri Lanka was declared as a wildlife sanctuary in 1969 and thereafter advanced to a National Park in 1993. It is located 251 km southeast of the capital city of Colombo, and can be reached from various tourist destinations around the country. For those travelling from Colombo the route is via Galle, Matara and Hambantota and from Kandy via Badulla. The climate at Bundala is hot and dry at most times, with average temperatures at 27 degrees Celsius during the months of May to September, with plenty of migratory birds arriving between September and March.

Matale 🪷

Matale is a major city in the central province, it is the administrative capital and most urbanized, populated city of the Matale District. Matale is the second largest urban and populated city of central, Sri Lanka after Kandy. It is mentioned that “Mahatala” became as Matale because it is placed in a valley and also the King Gajaba invaded “Soli Rata” and brought and settled 12,000 peoples in here it has become as Matale. Matara
Matara is a city on the southern coast of Sri Lanka, 160 km from Colombo. It is one of the largest cities in Sri Lanka. In ancient times it was called "Mahathota". It originated due to the big way of crossing the river Nilvala. The west part of the district is in the Wet Zone and the remains are in the Dry Zone. The orphanage is home to over 80 elephants, making it the largest captive herd of elephants in the world. The herd includes both young and old elephants, and visitors can witness the daily routines of these magnificent creatures. Visiting the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage is a unique and unforgettable experience. Activities at Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage include milk feeding, elephant bathing programmer (which allows you to touch an elephant in Riverside) and fruit feeding. You will be able to touch the elephants and take with your memories for a lifetime seeing such beautiful animals up close. Sigiriya is an ancient rock fortress located in northern Sri Lanka. The Sigiriya Rock Fortress is considered one of the best-preserved examples of ancient urban planning, The fortress is outlined with a web of gardens, tanks and structures. This megalithic rock was formed by a hard magma plate left behind by an extinct volcano. According to the ancient Sri Lankan Culavamsa, this site was selected by King Kashyapa for his new capital. He built his palace on the top of this rock and decorated its sides with colorful frescoes. On a small plateau about halfway upside of this rock he built a gateway in the form of an enormous lion. The name of this place is derived from this structure – Sinhagiri, the Lion Rock.

Sigiriya, considered as the eighth wonder of the world. It has many Archaeological remains and features such as Frescoes, Mirror wall and Gardens. The gardens, one of the most beautiful aspects of Sigiriya, consist of three sections: the water gardens, the terraced gardens, and the cave and boulder gardens. These landscaped gardens are among the oldest in the world, there are paths through the gardens which takes to the palace at the top of the rock.
