Ministry of Education Inspectorate Team Commences Phase Two of Nationwide School Assessment Tour

(MONROVIA, LIBERIA - APRIL 25, 2024):

The Ministry of Education is pleased to announce the commencement of phase two of its comprehensive school inspection initiative, covering Lofa, B**g, and Margibi Counties.

Commencing on Thursday, April 25, 2024, this Assessment tour will officially enter its second phase, concluding on April 30, 2024.

The primary objective of this Assessment tour is to conduct a thorough evaluation of the educational system, with a focus on identifying barriers to achieving equitable and accessible education across Liberia.

Supported by the government and valued partners, this collaborative effort demonstrates a steadfast commitment to sustainable educational development.

Under the leadership of Dr. Jallah and her team, the Ministry is dedicated to addressing educational challenges, with confidence in their ability to garner support and address gaps hindering Liberia's educational journey.

As part of this initiative, the Ministry will undertake a swift yet comprehensive review to promptly identify areas in need of attention and improvement.

The nationwide tour will be executed in five meticulously planned phases, with phase two commencing in LOFA, B**G, AND MARGIBI Counties.

The team has finalized schedules for productive meetings, including crucial engagements with students, teachers, administrators, county and district education officers, parents, and all relevant education stakeholders.

Furthermore, school visits will be an ongoing and systematic process, underscoring the Ministry's enduring commitment to effecting tangible, positive changes in Liberia's education system.

The Government of Liberia, in collaboration with the Government of Morocco, is pleased to offer one hundred five (105) bilateral scholarships across various fields of study.

I. Technical and Vocational Training-TVET (50 slots):

Transport Operations, Topographic Surveyor, Computer Graphics, Digital Infrastructure, Food Industry Manufacturing, Hygiene and Quality, Graphic Production, Construction, Technical Clothing Industrialization, Civil Engineering, Industrial Automation and Instrumentation, Electro-mechanics of Automated Systems, Air Conditioning, Computer Networking and Computer Programming, Driving instructor, Maintenance of Clothing Equipment, Building Draftsman Technician, Metal Construction Technician, Industrial Maintenance Electricity Technician, Mechanical Manufacturing Technician, Motor Vehicle Repair Technician (Option: Automotive), Motor Vehicle Repair Technician (Option: Trucks and Coaches), Horticultural Techniques, Logistics Technician, Culinary Arts (cooking), and Assembler in Plastics Processing.

II. Bachelor’s Program (46 slots):

Geology, Civil Engineering, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering, Economics, Commerce, Electrical Engineering, Education, Information Technology (IT), Pathology, Mechanical Engineering, Mining Engineering, Agriculture, Computer Science/Programming, Civil Engineering.

III. General Medicine (2 slots)

IV. Paramedical - Nursing, Radiology, Anesthesiology, Laboratory Science (6 slots)
V. Architecture – (1 slot)

The duration of studies ranges from 2-7 years, excluding one year of French language studies, commencing in the 2024/2025 Academic Year, at Moroccan public institutions of higher learning.

NOTE:
Students will be required to learn French either in Liberia or Morocco, and studies will be conducted fully in French.

Eligibility Criteria:

- Be Liberian nationals.

- Graduated from high school in 2022 and 2023 only, with at least a "B" average (80%) and above.

- Passed the WAEC or WASSCE with credits, including Math and English.

- For TVET: Be no more than 28 years old on September 1, 2024.

- For BSc/BA program: Be no more than 22 years old on September 1, 2024.

Application Requirements:

Eligible Liberian nationals must submit THREE (3) SETS of the following documents for consideration:

- Notarized photocopies of high school transcript.

- Notarized photocopies of high school diploma.

- Notarized photocopies of WAEC or WASSCE Certificate.

- Photocopies of birth certificate.
- Photocopies of passport (ECOWAS-Liberian Biometric passport valid for at least five years).

- A VALID medical certificate.

- Six recent white background (identical) passport size photos with the full name and nationality of the candidate written at the back of each photo.

- STATEMENT OF INTENT covering academic background/achievement, reason for the chosen field of study, the applicant’s potential to succeed, and how this degree would benefit Liberia’s development process.

- CV with phone number and email address listed.

- Two recent letters of recommendation (one professional and one academic).

- Recent Police Clearance.

Davido has been trending in Liberia lately for all the wrong reasons. Some people including blogs and Orange Liberia said that the ace artiste was to make another debut in Liberia, on January 19, 2024.

Davido's former manager, Asa Asika, who also seems to have a very close relationship with him, has said that the advertisement is false and misleading, and if Davido were to come to Liberia, his team would have said so. In other words, Asa is saying, "Woomi! For those who already bought their tickets to attend ley event, y'all money lee in ley hole O, Woomi!"
