"Everything! On the sea of course, incredibly efficient and not counting their effort and pain, so we saw everything: baitballs, sharks, thousands of dolphins, whales and mantas!

The ocean view rooms are comfortable, and the kitchen is INCREDIBLE! Everything is fresh, very varied, abundant.. and the atmosphere is particularly warm..

Launching the Sardine Run Expedition along the Mboyti Coast of South Africa with Seal Expeditions

We came here to witness the annual South African Sardine Run, where we could observe sardines, diving birds, sharks, and dolphins in their natural habitat.

The South African Sardine Run is a natural phenomenon that occurs from May through July when billions of sardines spawn in the cool waters of the Agulhas Bank and move northward along the east coast of South Africa.

This migration attracts a variety of marine predators, such as sharks, dolphins, and diving birds that feed on the sardines. It’s a unique opportunity to witness this spectacle of nature and observe these creatures in action.

Upon my return I repeatedly told my SEAL stories to friends and colleagues and realised how fortunate I was to be a part of this year's expedition.

My "second to one" :-) enthusiasm was a result of the incredible experience that I had with SEAL. I couldn't have asked for a better Skipper, Dive Master, and fellow passengers. Everything was perfect and you clearly have an expert team.

Gary and I will be back one day and until then, I will remember this fondly and dream of returning to Mboyti.
