The creation of online archives is a necessary and overdue initiative. We realised this at the latest with the compilation and documentation of our exhibition at the Conservatoire National de Véhicules Historiques. A great step ahead!

Apart from that, it should definitely also be tackled here in the country.

We are underway with the Federation’s a Club Expo 2025 with Tim Jarrett launching the FBHVC’s new Online Archive System FOCAS which puts club archives on line, searchable and as a tangible membership benefit!

Wir freuen uns, dass der Doug Harris Young Member Award des MG Car Club UK an Nina Rommes verliehen wurde! Die Auszeichnung wurde ins Leben gerufen, um diejenigen zu ehren, die über sich hinauswachsen und in ihrem Verein oder anderweitig für ihre Mitmenschen von unschätzbarem Wert sind – wer Nina kennt, weiß dass ihr Engagement für den MG Car Club weit darüber hinaus geht.

Über die Doug Harris Trophy: Doug Harris war ein bekanntes und hochangesehenes Mitglied des Vintage Registers und des South West Centre. Über 50 Jahre war Doug Mitglied im MGCC. In seinen frühen Jahren begann er mit einem Triple M Special Rennen zu fahren, der nach seinen eigenen Worten „erschreckend schnell“ war. Über viele Jahre hinweg besaß und restaurierte Doug eine Reihe von MGBs, aber seine größte Leidenschaft galt seiner 18/80-Limousine, einem von nur zwei 18/80s, die mit einer stoffbezogenen Karosserie überlebt haben. Er war ein freundlicher, ruhiger und nachdenklicher Mensch, der es liebte, Mitglied des MG Car Club zu sein, weil er dadurch anderen helfen konnte.

Nach seinem Tod im Oktober 2020 stiftete die Harris Familie die Doug Harris Trophy, die jährlich an das MGCC-Jungmitglied des Jahres verliehen wird.

Am 5. November feiert die Welt die Ehrenamtlichen und nicht nur heute möchten wir uns bei allen Helfern und Freunden des MG Car Club Luxemburg bedanken! Ohne sie wäre ein Clubleben nicht möglich. Auf unseren Bildern sind sie zu sehen, die vielen kleinen Dinge, die jeder Einzelne in die Hand nimmt, damit am Ende ein großes Ganzes entsteht. Das European Event zum Beispiel hätte der Vorstand alleine nicht stemmen können. Es wurde geplant, beraten, Parkplätze eingewiesen, Goodie Bags verteilt, Material transportiert, Spiele organisiert, Pannen kostenlos behoben, am Ende alles wieder sauber hinterlassen und vieles, vieles mehr. Bei unseren „Kniwweldeeg“, den Reparaturtagen, die wir für unsere Mitglieder veranstalten, sind die Helfer immer zuverlässig zur Stelle, um bei technischen Fragen zu helfen und auch moralischen Beistand zu leisten - schließlich fahren wir britische Autos...
All das wird gefeiert - das ganze Jahr über. Und heute feiern wir Euch ganz besonders, liebe Freunde, wie schön, dass es Euch gibt!

On 5 November, the world celebrates volunteers and not only today we would like to thank all helpers and friends of the MG Car Club Luxembourg! Without them, club life would not be possible. In our pictures, you can see the many small things that each individual takes on, so that in the end, a big picture emerges. The board alone could not have managed the European Event for example. There was planning, consulting, parking guidance, goodie bags distributed, material transported, games organised, breakdowns repaired free of charge, and at the end everything had to be left clean again and much, much more. At our ‘Kniwweldeeg’, the repair days that we organise for our members, the helpers are always reliably on hand to help with technical questions and also to provide moral support - after all, we drive British cars...
All this is celebrated – throughout the year. And today we celebrate you in particular, dear friends, how wonderful it is to have you!
