Riga Sightseeing bus tours with double-decker bus is the most convenient and cheap way to get acquainted with the most attractive sights of Riga. Hop on - Hop off system provides the option to get off the bus at any stop and continue the trip on the next bus without any restrictions. The tour is fully provided by the audio guide in 10 languages (English, Latvian, Russian, Norwegian, Finnish, Swedish, French, German, Italian and Spanish). Audio guide’s story is accompanied by sound effects and music - Latvian folk and modern songs. Full tour lasts about 90 minutes and covers 4 different districts of city: Art Nouveau district, Centre district, Pardaugava district and Moscow Forshtatd. Art Nouveau district - magnificent Jugendstil architecture quarters. This is one of the most vibrant and diverse quarters of Riga. Here, grand multi-storey buildings stand side by side from the early 19th century. An unusually colourful Art Nouveau palette has turned this quarter into a harmonious tableau. Centre district shows parks, boulevards and squares, monument of Freedom and the Latvian State Opera, Latvian theatre, Orthodox Cathedral, Powder tower, the former KGB building and many other sights. Pardaugava district – place without the throngs and noise of a big city. On the left side of the river Daugava guests can enjoy the magnificent panorama of the Old town with the view of famous Dome Cathedral, St.Peter church and Riga Castle. Pardaugava is also called - wooden architecture district, where guests can jump off the bus and take a walk on your own. Moscow Forshtatd or The Moscow Suburb is the oldest district of Riga. It’s fate is closely related to the history of the Russian minority in Riga. At present this district is also populated mainly by Russians and preserves a considerable number of memorials to Russian antiquity. Main sights you will see through this part of city - Zeppelin hangars of Central market, high-rise building of the Academy of Sciences and memorial to Holocaust victims.
