Beautiful autumn in Forest Edge 🏡

So , Spring was late coming this year , but it has not stopped guests coming Jan to date in good numbers . As usual we are always trying to make small improvements , new kitchen work surface in log house , Main Bedroom in 3 bedroomed house repainted . We have added 2 four metre trees and put and fresh layer of chippings on our road and in front of houses where cars are parked . The hot tub as been popular so was a worthwhile addition . With lights in the tub and under cover and lighting above it is quite good . The Cottage that we added ......built last year has been successful and popular , nearly all love it but as in all things there will always be one or two you cannot please ? As in most things you only get out what you put in and we do work hard to make our houses as best we can ? We know a guy that flies Delta planes from the old Spilva aerodrome , we have arranged this for about 40-50 guests and all like the experience and while flying he has a camera under the wing and take the photo of you then after downloads it for you...... cost around 35-40 euro per person ...Both Elena and I have done it it is a good experience !!! It is that time of year when Christmas is almost here and we think of all the guests that have stayed with us some have been hard going but the great majority have been really good to have stay , meet and talk with . We are mindfull that without them we dont have an income and so we very much appreciate them choosing us . Also to all that follow us and share our postings that help us also to gain recognition . Of the three houses the new cottage is struggling this month unlike the other two , we dont know why if any have suggestions please share them with us . The cottage is warm comfy spacious and has as much as 4/5 people could want for a good stay ? It has the natural feel outside as well as inside and its not expensive either ?? But overall it has been a good year so all the hard work is worth it I guess ........even if we are tired a lot ? We will in 2023 strive to upgrade and give as much as we can ? To everyone who follow and stayed with us Elena and I wish you all a very Merry Christmas a a good healthy year in 2023 ........Thankyou all .......Gary ........and Elena

Hi All ,we are well the houses we continue to improve and the latest addition the "Cottage" is doing ok . July and August is over and we have time to draw breath from so many cleans which were good in guests but exhausting too , but that is what we do !! Nice to see some guests returning , new as well and seeing them enjoying their vacation or stay . There is always some you cannot please but most give us 9"s and 10"s so we must be doing it right !! Now a little quieter we can continue to improve the grounds and our house too !!! We hope all that follow us and guests that have stayed are well and are getting through the difficult times of recent past and present health is the most important and ..a nice place to relax ??? Forest Edge Lodge
Hi All , this is our new house the third and last one . It was completed in around 8 months lots of hard work our design and vision . It has two bedrooms one double and one twin , large lounge and small kitchen but still large enough to have two chairs and a table for coffee tec , it has a Shower room and a small storage room . Outside it has a decking a carport used for loungers , bench and table and BBQ ........there is an enclosed picnic covered bench set and with trees and lampost and plants it is very relaxing indeed . Built from natural wood panels inside and out it gives the feeling of natural , it has a log burner in the lounge , WI-FI , TV and music too . We have had our first guests couple with 2 children and they loved it and want to stay again , indeed we love it too ???? We put all the details as in the other two houses to feel like home where you have most you wish !!! Of course parking for upto 2 cars is available . Hi All , The start of a New Year and 2021 was for many difficult , we hope that 2022 will be much better for all and covid will be soon a bad memory !!! We had More local people booking last year as travel was restricted between countries , that as given us more exposure locally in Latvia and saw us improve on the difficult 2020.
Our Houses still retain high Review marks on Booking.com and Airbnb also , it was so nice to greet our guests that booked with us through 2021 and made our year better socially as well as income .

We fully recognise that without the people that choose to book with us we would not have the small business and so we thankyou all who have stayed , follow us and have interest in Forest Edge.

Our main priority is to offer our houses with cleanliness , quality ,
Value and of course safety in mind at these times . Both Elena and I are fully vaccinated and boosted too against covid. Our news here is that we are constructing a new House , it will have two bedrooms , large lounge diner , kitchen and shower room . It will accommodate 4/5 and will have a decking outside . It has a double carport which can have a car and be used also as an outside bbq area . we hope to add another attraction but that will enhance the house but we are not ready to say what it will be till it is decided ???? We hope that it will be ready in the coming months and will announce it in due course . So , Elena and I ( Gary ) wish all a safe , healthy and good 2022 .......and hope to see some past Guests in the future too . A big Thankyou to all and best wishes Forest Edge .....Gary and Elena .

Hi All .......Finally over the past weeks some good weather and sun !!!! The past times since the dreaded covid have been challenging to run the houses and stay within the gules and laws but we have . We have been staying within those rules despite many guests attempting to ignore the rules , we want our guests to feel safe and us too . We have taken added measures of cleaning and only greet guests using masks inside the houses and show all detail to just on of the group . One attraction at the moment is that apart from the wood burning fires and have a bbq outside is that with all the public saunas closed guests can use our sauna as they are from one adress or just two friends and lots have enjoyed the sauna that they have been missing . We miss many guests from other countries but we indeed are grateful to Latvia nationals and Residents that have in numbers supported us by booking our houses . We remain committed to provide a good quality at we think reasonable cost that is clean and safe to stay in especially in these times . We hope in the future "normality' will return as people will be vaccinated against covid ......our wish is all stay safe , protect themselves and stay healthy .
