On October 4th we attended the Baltic Sea Region Tourism Workshop in Riga, Latvia. The event organized by the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) was an eye-opener to the potential of the Baltic Sea Region in tourism.
The theme, "Sustainability and innovation in the tourism sector as the driving force for Baltic Sea Regional growth," brought together tourism enthusiasts, suppliers, and buyers from all across the region. The highlight of the day was the impressive lineup of keynote speakers and panel discussions with internationally recognized experts in sustainability and future technologies. It was an excellent opportunity to network and explore new collaboration possibilities.

On September 22nd, we had the privilege of attending this prestigious event held at the JW Marriott Hotel Istanbul Marmara Sea - "GLOBEMEETS," the B2B Networking Event. And it was an absolutely remarkable experience!
Throughout the event, we had the opportunity to meet over 300 service buyers and decision-makers from various sectors, all gathered under one roof. From MICE agencies to event management companies, congress agencies to tourism agencies, it was an incredible melting pot of opportunities. What made it even more extraordinary was the careful selection of 70 hosted buyer agencies from 23 different cities across Turkey, with their itinerary costs covered – flights, accommodations, and transportation, all taken care of.
In hindsight, GLOBEMEETS was a prestigious, effective, qualified, and incredibly productive event that left smiles on the faces of all who attended. 💼🌐

Recognized as one of the most significant B2B workshops on the Nordic and Baltic tourism calendar, the event was held in Copenhagen on February 21st. The Nordic Marketplace aimed to unite major suppliers from across the entire Nordic and Baltic region with prominent buyers such as European and global tour operators, agents, wholesalers, and OTAs, all seeking new opportunities within the region.

Museums show a lot about the country’s culture and history. So, we highly recommend visiting at least one, when traveling. Lithuania is full of bigger and smaller museums, and here are 3 you should look into when visiting this Baltic country:

👉The Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania - the true gem of Vilnius. The Pal stands in the center of Vilnius, in Cathedral Square. It holds stories of the country's most triumphant times and though it has seen its share of history and hard times, the Palace has been newly revived and now is waiting for visitors to see and hear its tails. There is no greater testament to the resilience of this majestic city.

👉Trakai Island Castle Museum - is an island castle located in Trakai, Lithuania, on an island in Lake Galvė. The museum lets its visitors travel back in time to look into the history of Lithuania and it has amazing collections of furniture, pipes, stamps, clocks, china, and glass.

👉Rumsiskes Open-Air Museum - is a unique and one of the largest open-air ethnographic museums in Europe and it has the biggest quantity of exhibits. The museum presents the mode of life, works, and traditions of peasants and townspeople of all Lithuanian ethnographic areas. And aside from a large amount of information, it’s a great way to exercise in the fresh air as well.

The capital city of Sweden - Stockholm, lies on a number of islands and peninsulas at the outflow of Lake Mälar into the Baltic and is known as the "Venice of the North" for its many waterways and lakes. The combination of land and water in its surroundings—reefs and rocky islands scattered along the coast, towering crags rising from the water, and the intricate network of waterways encircling the city—is what gives the area its attraction. 🌇

But what are the top 3 places in Stockholm you should visit?

👉Gamla Stan (Old Town) - a living, breathing museum of Swedish history. Dating from the 1200s and crammed with must-see sights, attractions, cafés, authentic restaurants, and boutique shops, is definitely a place you should visit when in Stockholm. As you stroll through a perplexing maze of tiny, winding alleyways, many of which lead to (or from) Stortorget, the major public square, you will be taken back to medieval times and find plenty of souvenirs and gifts available there.

👉Sveriges Kungahus (The Royal Palace) - located by the water's edge on the periphery of Gamla Stan, Stockholm's Royal Palace (Sveriges Kungahus) is the official residence of the King of Sweden. The palace, one of the biggest in Europe with more than 600 rooms and various museums, offers a comprehensive glimpse of the once-powerful Swedish Empire. The palace was constructed in the Baroque style in the 18th century and is filled with numerous gems.

👉Stadshuset (Historic Stockholm City Hall) - dating from 1923, the hall opened on that most Swedish of dates: Midsummer's Eve. There are offices, meeting spaces, artistic creations, and the civil democratic infrastructure housed there. The prestigious annual Nobel Banquets are held here.

Estonia’s capital, Tallinn, is the country’s cultural hub. Cobblestoned Old Town is home to cafes and shops, and buildings full of history, like the the15th-century defensive tower and the Gothic Town Hall, built in the 13th century. But there is a modern side of Tallinn, that sets the mood for the city and is definitely worth seeing. 🌇

One of the most modern examples of Tallinn is the Rotermann Quarter - this former factory neighborhood that has been transformed into a vibrant commercial and cultural hub. A powerful sign of how far the city has come in recent years in reinventing itself is its avant-garde architecture.

But just a few years ago, the Rotermann factory area between Old Town and the Passenger Port, was little more than a collection of dilapidated buildings, discarded leftovers of late 19th and early 20th-century industry. Now that the area has been beautifully restored, it is home to a variety of shops, restaurants, and a thriving arts community. And the city nephew sleeps as the festivals and outdoor events frequently take place in the main square of the district. 🏬

We are truly happy and proud to support the Istanbul Başakşehir Football Club during their visit to the UEFA Europa Conference league's third qualifying round in Iceland.

And yes, Iceland can be full of challenges, both, operational and natural. During the period when all of Iceland's hotels were fully booked and getting any reservations was nearly impossible, our team reached everything and beyond. Not only did a high season challenge us, but nature itself. Iceland welcomed its guests with smoke and fire, reminding us of who is the true master of the island. 🗻

But as you can tell, it all ended well, and we provide full land service as planned. Thanks to all our Icelandic friends and the new and most hip hotel in Reykjavik - The Reykjavik Edition to meet all requirements and needs of F.C.

Art Nouveau - Rīga’s trademark 🏰

A new style turned heads around at the beginning of the 20th century. Art Noveau, also known as Jugendstil with its floral designs, weaving garlands, and flowing lines is still the main feature of Riga’s center architecture and is totally worth visiting!

Art Nouveau is an aesthetic movement inspired by the natural world that produced a highly expressive style of architecture, interior design, furniture, décor, glasswork, jewelry, and visual arts. Art Nouveau meaning “New Art” emerged in Belgium and France in the 1890s, continuing through the turn of the 20th century until World War 1. After the 1900s it spread throughout Europe and to the United States, also reaching the heart of Riga. But have you ever wondered, what are the key elements of this extraordinary style? 📍 Stave churches — unique cultural heritage from Medieval Norway!

With its inland hills and mountains, valleys, and coastal fjords, Norway is an amazing destination that offers a wide range of activities. But there’s another hidden gem that attracts thousands of people from all around the world every year — its stave churches.

📌 They are elaborately carved medieval wooden churches that many years ago were quite a common sight — it is estimated that there were about 2000 of them.

During the last few centuries, due to the Reformation and the spread of the Black Death, stave churches began to disappear, today remaining only 28 of them in the whole world.

👉 Stave churches are holding the precious history of Norway and its Viking offsprings — some of these architectural wonders even date back to the 12th and 13th centuries.

For example, the Urnes stave church is the oldest out of all the remaining stave churches (it was built around 1130), therefore making its way to the UNESCO World Heritage List.

🌎 These magnificent buildings can be found in several different areas throughout Norway, making it a destination that is worth the visit.
