In fact, traveling to the city of Chefchaouen is a unique experience that nourishes all the senses. It is like a blue and white painting, from the walls of houses, buildings and streets, through doors, windows and stairs, to the electricity poles and vases that decorate the doors of the houses. When the blue mixes with the color of the sky and the fresh waters of its waterfalls, the magic is complete and the visitor finds himself lying in her arms, not wanting to leave her.

The novels say that its blue color is due to the Andalusian and Moriscos who fled to it from Andalusia after they were subjected to religious and ethnic cleansing against non-Christians. They wanted this color to be a symbol of peace and tolerance, and they did not know that they had thus contributed to its current title of "The Blue Jewel".

But its charm is not limited to its color only.
