was born and raised in a village in the countryside of FeZ and attended school there with classmates whose families made their livings through agriculture , growing crops and raising sheep and livestock. His American teachers at the secondary school were surprised how fast and outstanding he was at learning English and encouraged him to follow his studies at the University of Fes. And because the culture of the countryside and farming remained in his mind , he wrote his Bachelor's thesis on the foremost poets of rural life in America : Robert Frost. He got his BA degree in English literature and worked as an English teacher in Tangier for nine years ...He then quit teaching as he realized he was born to be a tour leader...
