Exploring Volubilis The ancient site of Volubilis was known from the 18th century, but it was not until the late 19th century that it was first investigated. Excavations resumed in 1915, and have continued almost uninterrupted since, although extensive areas still remain to be explored. Although Volubilis is not as large as some other Roman towns, it shows how thoroughly romanized Mauretania Tingitana had become. This is seen in the public buildings and sophisticated town houses within the 2nd-century walls, which enclose an area of more than 400,000 sq m . The site, a pre- existing settlement on which the Romans imposed their way of life, features baths, oil presses, bakeries, aqueducts, drains and shops that evoke the inhabitants' daily lives. Volubilis is well-signposted and easy to explore.

Following Todra Gorge is another spectacular rocky canyon and a fascinating site to visit in Morocco. The path to the Gorges is really gorge(ou)s with panoramic cinema views, as the road runs through a valley full of palm trees, crops and old adobe villages (kasbas). .

:.. ➡️➡️ To
coast in the sixteenth century, they renamed the place Mogadouro, which later became Mogador, the name used by the Europeans until the end of the french protectorate in Morocco. When the city was first established, it was called Souira, which means a "small rampart" or "small image" in Arabic (The word is also close to the Semitic word "sour" meaning a rock or wall). Thus, whatever name is used, the idea of a fortified place is a constant. The same idea is confirmed by the Berber name for the city: Tassourt, or "little rampart". The form Essaouira da tes from 1957.

MAJORELLE Garden 🌱🍀☘️🌲🌵🌵🌻

Majorelle liked to say that his garden was his most beautiful work. Indeed, the luxuriant paradise is an original creation. Its founder did not model his garden on either Arab or European styles. At most, there are a few reminders of a landscaped garden. Jacques Majorelle often set up his easel outside and he made great use of perspectives and the effects of surprise obtained by winding paths. And then he literally painted his garden, putting the colours lacking in the plants on the walls, ground and flowerpots: a strip of red, pale blue, lemon yellow, light green and above all cobalt blue, the famous "Majorelle blue" which brightens the walls of his studio and brings out the infinite subtleties of the plants all around it.

Day 1 (Marrackech-Ait Benhaddou-Roses Valley-Dades Valley)

Tour starts at 7.00am leaving Marrakech crossing through the Atlas Mountains via the stunning Tizi N’Tichka pass (2260m). You will have plenty of opportunities to take pictures at many different panoramic viewpoints. We then explore the UNESCO World Heritage listed Ait Benhaddou Kasbah, a historic meeting place and trading site famous for its appearance in many Hollywood blockbusters. We’ll have 45min to visit the landmark, then 1hr 30min for lunch. After the break the tour continues on the road of 1000 Kasbahs to the ancient settlement of Ouarzazate. The town is Morocco’s Hollywood and moviemakers can regularly be found setting up shop in the sprawling desert crossroads with wide palm fringed boulevards. A second visit is scheduled on this day to the Studio Atlas Cinema (15min). We arrive at our overnight accommodation in the Dades valley at a comfortable guesthouse with private rooms to enjoy a traditional Moroccan evening meal and breakfast.

Day 2 (Dades Valley-Todgha Gorge-Erfoud-Merzouga)

After breakfast we travel to Todgha Gorge an impressive canyon in the Eastern section of the High Atlas Mountains. Stroll through the oasis and enjoy a walk through the ruined villages and visit a handcraft association of Berber women. Learn from the locals and experience daily life in a typical Berber village. We then enjoy lunch at one of the local restaurants. We continue the tour towards the big dunes of Merzouga and climb aboard a camel for an unforgettable ride (1h30min) at sunset toward Erg Chebbi and your evening camping accommodation in the desert. Enjoy the night with a traditional Berber dinner and serenades of music from local nomads under the stars. In the heart of the desert, among the dunes, you will be in the best place to admire a spectacular sky full of stars, as well as breathtaking sunrises and sunsets.

Day 3 (Merzouga-Marrakech)

An early wake up to enjoy the sunrise over the dunes of Erg Chebbi, the most memorable part of any visit to the Sahara, followed by breakfast in the bivouac of Merzouga. We then ride the camels back to meet our driver for the return journey to Marrakech.
