15 Days Grand Morocco Tours From Tangier
Tour Program:
Day 1: Tangier – Asilah
Pick up in Tangier on your arrival, and part of the morning to know the city. Known as “the door of Africa”, one of the most vibrant, mysterious, and interesting cities in Morocco. (Visit Hafa cafe) We head to Asilah, before making a visit to the Caves of Hercules. According to legend, this is where the mythical figure of Hercules rested after performing his 12 tasks. The entrance to the cave is oriented towards the Atlantic, and they are flooded during the high tides. The views that its interior offers are an experience. Arrival in Asilah, a small seaside village, undoubtedly one of the most beautiful in the north of Morocco, with its small medina characterized by blue houses and pictures decorated with colorful drawings. Day 2: Asilah – Rabat
After breakfast, we leave in the morning towards Rabat. Arrival in Rabat: known as the City of Gardens. It is the administrative capital of Morocco. It is, at the same time, a modern and traditional city, a dynamic mix of ancestral and modern culture. Surrounded by multicolored hillsides and mountains. The city, in itself, is elegant, with its harmonious gardens, its luxury shops, its shops, and its flowers. Free time to get to know the city. Accommodation in a charming hotel.
Day 3: Rabat – Casablanca
We continue our journey along the Atlantic, to Casablanca, the economic capital of the country. You will have all day to know the great city of Morocco, and the famous mosque of Hassan II, one of the highest temples in the world and the few that allows the visit to non-Muslim tourists. Accommodation in a charming hotel.
Day 4: Casablanca – Essaouira
We continue bordering the Atlantic, enjoying a beautiful coastal landscape to the city of Essaouira. Accommodation in hotel and free time to explore the city: World Heritage, maintains the charm and authenticity of a land lost in time. This is where the Mediterranean ends: the last walled fortification on the Atlantic shores. The bay of Essaouira, washed by the waves of the islands of Mogador, is the paradise for fans of wind sports. Accommodation in charming Riad.
Day 5: Essaouira – Marrakech
Breakfast at the hotel. Free time to take a last walk in the medina of Essaouira, before leaving for Marrakech. Arrival in Marrakech, transfer to your Riad. Free day to make contact with the place. Accommodation in charming Riad.
Day 6: Marrakesh Sightseeing (Local guide)
Free day to continue describing the many corners that make up the city: One of the 4 imperial cities of Morocco. Famous for possessing numerous monuments recognized as a World Heritage Site, and its famous Jemaa el Fna square. You will be able to walk through its different and characteristic neighborhoods, the modern city: Guéliz, Hivernage, Palmeraie, Mellah (the Jewish quarter) … or let you take you through the winding streets of the Medina to Jemaa el Fna square, in the open air: jugglers, musicians, fakirs, snake charmers, jugglers … that will awaken all your senses, with its many sounds, aromas, flavors, and colors that characterize it. Day 7: Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Marrakech
The famous waterfalls of Ouzoud, 110 meters high, are located in the great Atlas, in the province of Azilal. They are the most beautiful in all of Morocco and North Africa. They are surrounded by idyllic landscapes painted in many different colors. In the afternoon, you can watch the monkeys that inhabit the area, playing among them, and trying to steal something to eat the tourists.
Day 8: Marrakech – Ait Benhaddou – Dades
After breakfast we will go to Ait Benhaddou, on the way we will cross the High Atlas Mountains, crossing the port of Tizi n’Tichka, making our way through numerous Berber nomad villages inhabiting the area. Spectacular scenery that will take us to the Kasbah of Telouet, one of the best-preserved so far. Time to visit the kasbah until the exit, through the track, which leads us to another of the best-preserved and most famous kasbahs in all Morocco, the kasbah of Ait Benhaddou, famous for being the stage of more than twenty films, like “Babel”. Continue through Ouarzazate crossing the valley of Rosas, to enter the gorges of Dades, where the so-called “Route of the thousand kasbahs” begins. Accommodation in Dades Valley and dinner at the charming hotel.
Day 9: Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Merzouga
Breakfast at the hotel. We go to the Gorges of Todra, where you can enjoy a pleasant walk between its imposing canyon of walls of more than 200 meters of altitude, until the exit towards the desert through the palm grove of the Tafilalet. Arrival at the hotel at the foot of the dunes, where you can walk through the fine sand of Erg Chebbi, relax and enjoy this stunning landscape. In the evening, you will taste a delicious Moroccan dish. Overnight in a room in the hotel with charm.
Day 10: Merzouga – Tour around the Erg Chebbi – Merzouga
After an abundant Moroccan breakfast, we will climb to the 4×4 to start our tour around the dunes Erg Chebbi, a desert region populated with sand: Among the numerous stops awaiting you, we will discover how and where the nomadic families of the area live, oasis wild in the middle of nowhere, spectacular landscapes and small desert villages, palm groves… Inevitable stop on our way through the village of Khamelia, people from Mali, who will make us enjoy a beautiful concert of Gnawa music while savoring a delicious tea. On the way back to the hotel, our dromedaries await us to leave on a route of an hour and a half, making our way through dunes, until we reach the heart of the desert to contemplate the beautiful sunset. Surrounded by the Great Dune, and enjoying the music of drums, dinner, and Moroccan tea, you can contemplate the immense star sky and sleep in a charming nomad tent.
Day 11: Merzouga – Rissani – Ziz Valley – Midelt
We wake up early in the morning, to see another great show among the dunes of the Moroccan Sahara: the spectacular sunrise. Once again you will board your dromedaries to take another route back to the hotel. Breakfast and shower, and we continued our way to Rissani. Where we will walk by what is known as the most authentic and traditional souk in Morocco, and the largest in the south of the country, where it is traded with all kinds of handicrafts, food, and animals. We continue via Erfoud, the ancient gate of the desert, a city famous for the work of the fossils, crossing the impressive Ziz Valley, with its more than 18,000 palm trees, until reaching Midelt. Dinner and overnight in a charming hotel.
Day 12: Midelt – Meknes – Fez
Breakfast and departure to the city of Meknes, where we will visit the famous Roman ruins of Volubilis. Then continue our way to Fez and spend the rest of the day to know the city. Accommodation with charm.
Day 13: Fes Sightseeing (Local guide)
Free full day to visit Fes: Another of the 4 imperial cities. In Morocco, it is considered as the religious and cultural center of the country. Its university, famous for the study of Arabic and the Muslim religion, is a point of passage for many Moroccan students. You will have time to walk around and get to know its different neighborhoods, the new area or Fès el-Jdid, where you will find the Mellah (the Jewish quarter), the Ville Nouvelle (French New Town) in the northwest of the city and of course, -Bali, the old area, inside the walls. You can stroll through its streets and feel like you are transported to past worlds where potters, smiths, craftsmen, and donkeys loaded with merchandise from various backgrounds coexist with the tourists who pass through their labyrinthine streets. Also famous for the souk of the tanners, you can be part of the process of craftsman of medieval roots through which they manage to give these vivid colors to the leather. Day 14: Fez – Chefchaouen
Early morning departure to Chefchaouen A charming little town located on the slopes of the Tisouka and Megou mountains of the Rif Mountains, which rise above the village like two horns, thus giving the city its name (Chefchaouen in Berber means “look at the horns”) A city with very little car traffic, where you can breathe a clean and fresh air that invites you to stay to discover the beauty of the place and its surroundings. Day 15: Chefchaouen – Tangier
Departure to Tangier and transfer to the port Farewell and end of our services.
