Such a wonderful day yesterday walking around the souks yesterday in Marrakech. I haven’t been inside since the earthquake two weeks ago. Life is back to
normal in there, and we need you to NOT cancel your trip to Morocco.

After meeting Mohammed, our very interesting guide, we started the tour preparing our lunch with Fatima, who has her little place in one of my favourite little hideaways in the medina, which was a nice surprise! We then took our pots to the hammam where Rachid works, making sure that there is always enough wood to burn. Don’t know how he manages to stay in there when it is still 35 degrees outside!!

We hand painted our own Fatima’s hand, had a go at chiseling a metal lamp, which apparently we were all bad at 😂, and then the famous zellige Moroccan tiles.

Back at Fatima’s the gang enjoyed their chicken tangia and I had my pumpkin tagine. AMAZING!!

Legzira, Wowww, I never thought I could find a beach like you in Morocco. Not only is this beach breathtakingly clean and picturesque, I felt safe as a woman here. I swam and sunbathed and now feel fully relaxed.

Pleasantly surprised yesterday with my visit to Les Jardins de Marjorelle. Hardly any tourists at all! Plenty of spaces in this well kept garden to sit and chill away from the hectiness of the Medina.

Khamlia is a small village located on the edge of the sand dunes of Erg Chebbi in southeast Morocco near the Algerian border.
The village is also called the southern gateway to the Sahara, which begins in Algeria.
The inhabitants are the direct descendants of the Gnawa tribe from the Sub-Saharan countries.
Since the road was built through the village in 2004, tourists have been visiting the village of Khamlia and have been invited into homes to watch and participate with the spiritual music of the Gnawa performed with their traditional instruments, Guembri and Hajhuj.

Fez - Merzouga - Marrakech - 9 Day Tour

Day 1 - Airport to Riad and a day to relax in Fez or to sit by the pool.

Day 2 - Walking tour around the Medina, visit the tanneries and see the artisans at work.

Day 3 - Leave for Merzouga, drive through Ifrane and Azrou, see the monkeys in the Cedar trees, then Meknes, the city of apples and arrive at the red sand dunes of Erg Chebbi late afternoon.

Day 4 - Explore the village of Hassiliabed by foot with its green oasis and the stunning sand dunes. Take a camel ride over the dunes to the luxury camp, where you will spend the night in the desert under the stars.

Day 5 - After breakfast, a 4x4 journey back over the dunes to Hassiliabed. Time for some shopping and explore the ancient town of Rissani.

Day 6 - Visit K’hemlia and listen to traditional Gnaoua music, and get up and dance! Time to say goodbye to the desert and drive towards Todra Gorge and Ait Ben Haddou. Stay in Ait Ben Haddou.

Day 7 - Over The High Atlas Mountains and through Berber villages towards the red city of Marrakech.

Day 8 - Explore the Medina and haggle at the souks. A walking tour from Jemaa El Fna to Bahia Palace, Les Jardins Marjorelle and the Mellah, the Jewish Quarter of Marrakech.

Day 9 - Free day in Marrakech, maybe enjoy a relaxing hammam and massage before your flight home.
