Isolated by the villagers for my view about protecting nature, I made complaints against the house in front of mine two years ago. At first the work was stopped and then, after the owner of the illegal structure said she would pay out bribes to local authorities, it was finally built. Please show your support for this work that I continue to do, to protect the natural environment that the Amazigh people continue to destroy. Where they see a tree, they cut it down; and where they've a garden, they cut the parcel up to build more ugly, concrete block monstrosities; and where there is any land left, they dump their trash on it. During your visit? I would appreciate your input on what might yet be done to protect the beauty of the High Atlas Mountains.

Since two years I have fought against the illegal, 'random' construction in concrete block, even filing complaints against the house now built in front of my home. I've been completely alone in this fight. Feel free to visit as I do what I can to respect the natural environment in this part of Morocco.

Welcome! Work has begun once more at High Atlas Retreat!
While the entrance will need to be fixed, I've been working on the main house this past year. It's not about building a house so much as....growing a home and a sanctuary in nature.
