The Sahara desert is so big that it covers 12 (!) countries of Africa. Can you imagine nomads traversing the immense and vast landscapes of the Sahara? This mainly happened in the past, when borders were still crossable and there was still occasional rain. Now, with less and less rain and almost no food for the animals, most of the nomads exchanged their life in the desert for a life in the small villages or towns nearby.

One month ago we had the big pleasure of meeting the wonderful people Peffi and Nico in our project Oasis at the edge of the Sahara. They live and travel in their van and make video documentations about their experiences. This one is about their stay with us in the oasis and their desert trip with us. Welcome to OMSahara Tours!

We were nomads, the original people from the Sahara desert. Coming from a Tuareg-Berber family, our way of living is very unique. Before, we were living in the desert and moving from place to place, now we are based in a small village, at the edge of the Sahara.

We would love to share more of the knowledge and traditions we grew up with, with people from all over the world.

This is the reason we organize trips for you into the Sahara desert. We work hard to offer our clients an experience that is as real and original as possible. Our goal is to share with you a trip into the big dunes, where you can find your own moment of peace, quietness and where we can stop the time for a little bit. Here, in the Sahara desert, where you can feel all the space the desert offers around you, you can discover the meaning of freedom. Here, where we are far away from the modern and hasty life, we can connect with our deep inner selves and try to create a new beginning of life.

You will sleep outside under the stars, or in a tent, as you prefer. During the journey we will share with you our healthy and delicious authentic Moroccan meals and - of course - tea, prepared by our talented cook. We will visit many different places in the Sahara desert including Morocco's biggest dunes, see wild animals, find fossils and meet berbers who still live in the desert.
