Among highly ranked hiking destinations Montenegro is recently finding its way toward the top!

It is becoming one of the favorite places for those who love spending their vacation actively. More and more adventure seekers from all over the World are discovering this country of diversities and wilderness.

And that’s with a reason!

Although very small, Montenegro has so many natural beauties to offer! Numerous mountains, lakes, rivers, and sea gave it deservedly the epithet “The Mediterranean pearl”.

On SW of massif hides on of the most beautiful canyons that you can imagine. In spring time Sušica fills the valley, forming crystal clear periodical lake. A fairytale scenery that everyone should come to see.

Great memories from last summer. Hiking week with .j.freeman and .
In 7 days we hiked on NP Durmitor, NP Biogradska gora (Bjelasica mountain) and NP Skadar Lake.
Pic is taken on Bjelasica, one of the most beautiful mountains in Montenegro, and certainly the greenest one. As it has volcanic origin it is full of water, so there are so many streams scattered around the region. It's great mountain for multiday hike, there are some great accommodation options (usually in Katuns, traditional farmer's settlement, now used for hosting visitors)
This beautiful mountain has 10 peaks over 2000 a.s.l. and 6 glacial lakes.

In this week we hiked in 3 National Parks; Durmitor NP, Bjelasica mountain (NP Biogradska gora) and NP Skadar lake.

Here we are on Bjelasica , the greenest mountain in . Bjelasica has 10 peaks over 2000m a.s.l. and 6 glacial lakes. Its geological features are of volcanic origins, with smooth round shapes and mildly rolling landscapes.
Bjelasica is also full of water with ao many springs scattered around the mountain.

There is very little that can beat a sensation of being out on the water while wind is filling the sails and boat glides through the waves. Harnessing the power of wind and relying on your skills makes sailing a very pure form of being with nature. It is also very environmentally friendly; you’re not emitting fossil fuels while travelling the same way that mankind has done for thousands of years!

The impossibly rugged and dramatic Durmitor (Дурмитор) is one of Montenegro’s – and Mother Nature’s – showpieces. Carved out by glaciers and underground streams, Durmitor stuns with dizzying canyons, glittering glacial lakes and nearly 50 limestone peaks soaring to over 2000m; the highest, Bobotov K*k, hits 2523m.
