Excursion
Mostar
Sited in the flower and wine-growing valley of Neretva river, Mostar is one of the biggest tourist centers of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The charm of the Old town, especially the part around Neretva, will enchant you in one place for several hours while enjoying a traditionally served Turkish coffee and listening to the sounds. Our famous writer and Nobel Prize winner, Ivo Andric, tried to describe unusual light of this ancient town by saying: „When you spend a night in Mostar, it is not the sound that awakes you, but the light. I could never have enough of it”. Famous worldwide, a main attraction and symbol of the city of Mostar is the Old Bridge that dates back to the Ottoman period. The bridge was built in 1566, by the Ottoman architect Mimar Hayrudin. When arriving at the Old Bridge you will enjoy a memorable view of the Neretva River and the surrounding antiquities.
After driving through the cities of Hercegovina (Ljubinje, Stolac and Capljina), around 11:00 we arrive in Medjugorje, sacred place located in western Bosnia, 25 kilometers southwest of Mostar. It has become famous as a pilgrimage site due to a series of apparitions of the Virgin Mary. Since 1981, in this small, peaceful town, the Blessed Virgin Mary, human mother of Jesus Christ, has been appearing in supernatural apparition and giving messages to the world. Aproximately 50 million people of all faiths, from all over the world, have visited Medjugorje and have left spiritually strengthened and renewed. Many bring back stories of miracles in the form of healings (of mind, body and spirit) and supernatural visual signs. With a local guide we will visit marvelous church of Saint Jacob with a wonderful open theatre, as well as “Podbrdo”, place where Virgin Mary left lots of her messages and where we can see her monument.
Arriving in Mostar around 14:00, we plan to visit the Old Bridge, Curved Bridge, Kalebija and Hercegusa Tower. The Mehmed Beg Karadzoz Mosque, the only one in Mostar which is preserved in its original color and wall decoration, represents the masterpiece of Ottoman architecture. We end our walking tour through the old town by visiting Kujundziluk, an old Mostar market with artisan and souvenir shops, a place where colors, art, East and West, modern and traditional meet up and harmonically coexist.
After sightseeing, we'll make one-hour lunch break in a local restaurant (1 h).
Return to Herceg Novi is planned for 20:00.

-transportation in air-conditioned vehicles (high tourist class)

Dubrovnik

Within tall and strong ancient walls lies Dubrovnik, a hidden gem and of the most beautiful coastal cities of Europe. Amazing architecture, historical city core, blue and perfectly pure sea make Dubrovnik one of the world’s most visited destinations.
The walls were erected in the 16th century and run a course of about 1,940 metres in length, encircling most of the old city, and reach a maximum height of about 25 metres. Along its course and within the walls there are several towers (Minceta, Bokar...) and fortresses (Revelin, St. John...), as well as numerous historical monuments, a mixture of medieval, Gothic, Renaissance and Baroque style.
The Rector’s Palace, dating from the 15th century and built in the late Gothic style, was the seat of the government of the Dubrovnik Republic and is a masterpiece of Dalmatian architecture.
Stradun, the main and famous street in the old city of Dubrovnik, hides genuine architectural jewels. You will be able to see the City Cathedral, the Church of St. Blaise (protector of Dubrovnik), the Sponza Palace (the city archive), the Rector’s Palace, the bell towers and the Orlando’s Column. All those beautiful monuments are the finest examples of the late medieval and early renaissance architecture.
When you decide to take a break from art and history, choose one of numerous restaurants and taverns and try some of the local specialties.

NEVIDIO CANYON
The Nevidio (Never seen) Canyon, one of the most mysterious places in Europe, is located at the foot of the southern slopes of Durmitor, in the valley of the Komarnica river. Unique wild beauty attracts adventurers and nature lovers from all over the world.
The canyon entrance is almost unreal. Glacier lakes contribute to its beauty, as well as the village of Poscenje, the oldest settlement on Durmitor.
Locals used to call it “unseen miracle”. After several unsuccessful attempts, in 1965, a group of hikers from Niksic managed to pass through the canyon. Unconquerable nature was finally defeated. More than 2000 people visit this exquisite place each year.

The canyon is 400 meters deep and approximately 4 km in length, while some of the passages are less than 1 meter high. Its cliffs (some of them even 300 meters high) at some points are so close to each other, that they prevent the light to reach the bottom of the canyon. Huge rocks stuck between the cliffs, amazing stone figures, gorges, cascades, waterfalls, slippery and sharp rocks, labyrinths and sparkling rapids will hardly leave you indifferent. If you are not bold enough to discover the secrets of Nevidio, after 500 meters you can return to the starting point. After a jump from a 6-meter high cliff, the real adventure begins. Each step brings a new, stunning picture.
The water temperature is only five degrees. You'll need to dive in to pass through some of the obstacles. The most difficult challenge ahead is the so-called Kamikaza Gate.
The fast flow of the River Komarnica will occasionally break the silence, and step by step, jump after jump, you will reach one of the most exciting parts - jump from the 11-meter high rock. If you are not brave enough for this venture, an alternative solution would be descending down the cliff by the rope. After another slightly easier obstacle, you will get to the exit.
Tour description:
The excursion starts at 06:00 from the public parking lot, across from the main bus station in Herceg Novi (the time will be adjusted to the arranged pick up points). Around 9:00 we arrive to village Komarnica, 7km from Savnik, where you will be welcomed by your guides, professional hikers and members of the National Mountain Rescue Team. After the briefing, signing the consent for voluntary participation and equipping the participants, at 10:00, we enter the canyon. The tour lasts approximately 5 hours. After return to the starting point, lunch will be provided for all the participants.
