OUR LADY OF THE ROCKS 🏝

Our first stop is at an islet in the middle of Boka Bay, which bears the name of the church that’s settled on it – Our Lady of the Rocks. Tales speak of an icon of the Holy Mother of God with Christ, found by seamen after a shipwreck. In commemoration of the event, local fishermen vowed to throw rocks at the same spot where the Lady had been found, thus enlarging and creating a beautiful artificial islet that harbors the church that’s been built in Her honor.

This is a place you must visit if you are coming to Montenegro🏝🌊

GOSPA OD ŠKRPJELA☀️

Naša prva stanica je na ostrvu usred Bokokotorskog zaliva, koje nosi ime crkve koja se na njemu nalazi – Gospa od Škrpjela.
Priče govore o ikoni Presvete Bogorodice sa Hristom koju su pronašli pomorci nakon brodoloma. U znak sjećanja na taj događaj, lokalni ribari su se zavjetovali da će bacati kamenje na isto mesto gde je Gospa pronađena i na taj način uvećati i stvoriti prelijepo vještačko ostrvo u kome se nalazi crkva koja je podignuta u njenu čast.
