« HAPPY WORLD LEMURS DAY 2023 » ✨

For World Lemurs Day 2023, we're delighted to talk to you about the famous Bandro.

🇺🇸The Only existing aquatic lemur

The Bandro or Hapalemur alaotrensis is a lemuriform primate species. Endemic to Lake Alaotra, it lives in the swampy vegetation around the lake, made up of papyrus and reeds. It is mainly active at dawn and dusk, spending most of its time feeding. The Hapalemur alaotrensis is truly unique due to its restricted habitat and small size.

The Bandro festival is celebrated every year in Ambatondrazaka.

🇫🇷Le seul lémurien aquatique existant

Le Bandro ou l’Hapalemur alaotrensis est une espèce de primate lémuriformes. Endémique du lac Alaotra, il vit dans la végétation marécageuse autour du lac composé de papyrus et de roseaux. Il est principalement actif à l’aube et au crépuscule, passant la majeure partie de son temps à se nourrir. L’Hapalemur alaotrensis est vraiment unique en raison de son habitat restreint et de sa petite taille.

Le festival Bandro est célébré chaque année à Ambatondrazaka.

Der Bandro oder Hapalemur alaotrensis ist eine Primatenart, die zu den Lemuren gehört. Er ist endemisch in dem Alaotra-See und lebt in der sumpfigen Vegetation rund um den See, die aus Papyrus und Schilf besteht. Er ist hauptsächlich in der Morgen- und Abenddämmerung aktiv und ist die meiste Zeit mit Fressen beschäftigt. Der Hapalemur alaotrensis ist aufgrund seines begrenzten Lebensraumes und seiner geringen Größe eine wirklich einzigartige Spezies.

Jedes Jahr findet in Ambatondrazaka das Bandro-Festival statt.

Es activo sobre todo al amanecer y al atardecer, y pasa la mayor parte del tiempo alimentándose. El Hapalemur alaotrensis es realmente único por su hábitat restringido y su pequeño tamaño.

La fiesta del Bandro se celebra todos los años en Ambatondrazaka.
