🇲🇬Nosy Lonjo is a picturesque natural site, preserved by its cultural vocation. Like all the islets off Madagascar's north-west coast, it serves as a sacred burial ground for the late Sakalava rulers. 🌄⛰
🇲🇬It is also a place where ancestors are worshipped through the traditional "fijoroana" ceremonies still practiced by the local population. It is inhabited by a diverse fauna, including fanihy bats. This islet has a distinctive appearance.🗺
Seen from afar, it gives the image of a sitting animal on all fours; seen up close, the top of the site appears to have the head of a sleeping man.
