Experience the Gerewol festival, a ritual competition between the fulani people and the Tuareg of Niger. The Guérewol occurs each year as the traditionally nomadic Wodaabe cattle herders gather at the southern edge of the Sahara before dispersing south on their dry season pastures.

Visiting around the capital city of Niamey visit the national museum, the artisans’ centre and the market. In the afternoon you go on cruise on the Niger River to visit the hippos till the sunset. Overnight at Hotel .

The Gerewol is an annual competition and courtship ritual of the ethnicity of the Bororo or Wodaabe in Niger. Young men line up to sing and dance, traditionally makeup and dresses with beautiful ornaments, competing to seduce the nubile women.

The festival takes place every year when cattle herders gather south of the Sahara Desert before heading to more fertile lands. This is a great festival of color and joy, which the traveler could enjoy Rosemary Sheel and so offer these great photographs:

La máscara Zangbeto es muy alto y cubierto con paja de color. Representa los espíritus no humanos salvajes (las fuerzas de la naturaleza y de la noche que habitó la Tierra antes de que los seres humanos). Los portadores de la máscara pertenecen a una sociedad secreta y mantener su identidad oculta como los no iniciados no se sabe quiénes son. Cuando Zangbeto sale, es un gran acontecimiento importante para el pueblo. Su rendimiento garantiza la protección contra los malos espíritus y las personas malintencionadas. El movimiento de rotación de la máscara simboliza la limpieza espiritual del pueblo y Zangbeto también hace milagros para demostrar sus poderes.
