COME VISIT AND SAVE BAGAN TOGETHER

To all who loves Bagan,

As you all know Bagan was hit by a 6.8 Richter scale earthquake on August 24 evening and more than 185 ancient pagodas suffered, some extensively.

Bagan is a world renowned tourist destination with historical buildings dating back to the 10th-11th centuries and the nearby town of Nyaung Oo is a thriving community, a hub for commercial activity for the region. Many people in Nyaung Oo and the new satellite town of New Bagan rely on Bagan's cultural and heritage importance for their living, from horse cart operators to postcard sellers and hotel employees.

But one of the after effects of natural disasters is that many international visitors stay away from such disaster-hit areas as the attractions are no more there to interest them. Consequently, this will impact on the lives of the people depending on you-staff redundancies, lowered wages, loss of income even and other ripple effects, both economic and social.

So please help by visiting Bagan as usual. Bagan needs your support as well as your tourist dollars to rebuild. We will save Bagan together.
