Sri Lanka's cabinet approved issuing free tourist visas to visitors from 35 countries, in an effort to boost tourism and help revive its crisis-hit economy.

Tourists will be given 𝟑𝟎-𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐯𝐢𝐬𝐚𝐬 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚 𝐬𝐢𝐱-𝐦𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐡 𝐩𝐢𝐥𝐨𝐭 𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐦𝐦𝐞 that will start from 𝟏 𝐎𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟒.

Tourist arrivals have shown signs of growth since last year, with around 2 million tourist arrivals seen as of August, with Sri Lankan officials expecting a total of 2.3 million arrivals by the end of the year.

Due to the World Health Organization declared Mpox a Public Health Emergency of International Concern (PHEIC) on 14 August 2024, all travelers arriving in Myanmar are required to complete Health Declaration Cards (HDCs) in accordance with the Ministry of Health (MOH) procedures and submit the cards to the relevant MOH officials before passing through immigration counters.

Starting from 01 JULY 2024, the paper arrival/departure card, the health document and the customs form will be replaced by the electronic arrival/departure card. This means that all tourists visiting Cambodia are required to submit a digital application via the dedicated APP within 7 days before arrival.
