RIP friend

I’m heartbroken to share the news of the passing of my dear friend Yerbol, who was an incredible eagle hunter and a loving father. He was a master of his craft, a generous mentor, and a loyal companion. He loved his family, his eagle, and his culture.

I will never forget the time we went on a winter migration spending 4days together herding 1000 animals to spring pasture. I remember him taught me how to spot the best prey and how to handle the eagle with care and respect. He was always patient, kind, and humorous.

My thoughts and prayers are with his wife and five children, who he adored more than anything. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew him. May he rest in peace and may his spirit soar high.

As per record there is around 250 Kazakh Eagle Hunter Family only in Bayan Ulgii province of Mongolia.Most of these families do migrate during the extreme winter of Altai mountains with their live stocks and families. The Winter Migration of the Altai Kazakhs in Western Mongolia

The Kazakh Eagle Hunters and Nomadic herders of western Mongolia have lived the same way for hundreds, if not thousands of years. Hunting with their Golden eagles, raising their families, and tending to their herds of livestock, they are on the move 3-4 times a year, always in search of greener pastures.
