Don't forget its not just frozen camels or month long traverses across Mongolia that we undertake. We have shorter trips and even this year we are adding in some that just take in the scenery without riding a horse or being in the saddle. Come see the amazing reindeer in the north, take a slow ride on a yak or simply come along and enjoy the nature and some birdwatching along Mongolia beautiful rivers and lakes. We offer a whole range of expeditions and can do bespoke holidays as well. More info in comments

We know people aren't used to seeing camels like this, but isn't it what makes it the most magical?

The fat stored in their humps not only protects them from extreme heat but helps them survive the long extreme cold of winter in Mongolia as well. This is why camels are a staple of desert life and how we can run the coldest camel expedition on earth in temperatures that can get below -30c. This is the natural home of the bactrian camel and just look at the view in winter!

Ten days of glorious Mongolian travel, experiencing the best of all it has to offer.
This trip is designed for those who love wild places the natural beauty and will get you there in our 4wd with experienced guides and comfort.

We specialise in the wildest expeditions in Mongolia. Trips that take you to the most remote areas, celebrate nomadic culture and venture into the horizon on the backs go Mongolia's mightiest animals.

However we realise some of you may like a more leisurely approach or don't have the skills to be in the saddle. We are thinking of adding a wild life and bird watching trip this June?

It would mean going to some of Mongolia's beautiful places, experiencing the same nomadic culture and hospitality with the same amazing support crew we have on all our expeditions. You get amazing meals, camping and education on Mongolians customs, culture and history. There would be chances to see the wetlands, steppes and mountains and walk through the wilderness at your own pace looking at birds and wildlife.

Some of the animals and birds you could potentially see would be the Przewalksi horses, whooper swans, eagles, cinereous vultures, marmots, argali, cranes, black-billed cappercalliess, cranes, foxes, marmites, Mongolian gazelles, ibex and so much more. Not to mention the huge herds of the herders, cashmere goats, sheep, horses, cattle and yaks.

Would you be interested or know someone who would be? Let us know and we'll add this trip to our expedition schedule for 2024.

The dream team heading up along the mountains of the desert. Fiona, Kaleigh, Laura and Chloe all riding together.

Don't be mistaken the Gobi Desert is anything but a flat empty space. It encompasses so many different landscape and terrain. No day is like the one before it.

Are you seeking adventure? Come join us in January next year for an experience you will never forget.

Kristin from Miles For Breakfast Media proving to be coolest camera woman around. She was out in the desert with us to catch all the action. So I guess the cat's out of the bag, or the camels out of the corral so to speak. This year with her help we are going to be releasing some documentary films about Mongolia including the Gobi Cold Camel Expedition. Watch this space and we'll let you know where you can watch them once released.

Anne Sibley having a wonderful ride with the herder and spotting wildlife along the way. The Gobi Desert is not the barren wasteland people think. It's actually home to many different species of wildlife and birds if you just know where to look.

This last expedition we have seen Argali, Mongolian Gazelles, eagles, vultures, many species of bird still found there deep in winter and of course the huge herds of sheep, goats, horses and cattle of the herders.

We go to some of the most remote, wild and beautiful places in Mongolia. We believe that wilderness, animals, and journeys are good for the soul. However we also believe in safety and that medical support is good for everyone’s peace of mind and physical health. Our biggest expeditions came with some amazing medical professionals offering support and their skills to the team. This year we were lucky enough to have Dr Paddy from Australia as part of the Gobi Cold Expedition. Seen here keeping a close eye on things from his rocky outpost in the desert.

What does home look like in the middle of Gobi Desert in the depths of Mongolian winter? Pretty cosy actually, these are our traditional Mongolian gers under a starry night sky that we set up in a new location each night complete with fire places to keep everyone warm.

A home away from home for all those on expeditions and by far the most practical and much loved way to stay.

A very special moment when one of our amazing riders Karen, was given a camel by the herders at the end of the fourth day of this years Gobi Cold Camel Expedition. This is a huge honour and an example of just how generous and kind the people of the Gobi are. This is the lovely camel Karen had been riding for the last 4 days and even though she can’t take it back to Canada with her it will be here should she ever return to Mongolia.
