Naadam (the three games of men) is the biggest traditional festival in Mongolia.The games are Mongolian wrestling, horse racing and archery and are held throughout the country during midsummer.
Naadam was widely celebrated by Mongolians since Chinggis Khaan's period and It served as a way to train soldiers for battle. The Naadam festival has been registered as a cultural heritage by United Nations Organization.
Naadam begins with an elaborate opening ceremony featuring dancers, athletes, horseback riders, and musicians. After the ceremony, the competition begins.
Chinggis Khan’s Nine Base White Banners, representing the nine tribes of the Mongols, are still ceremonially transported from the Government Palace to the Central Stadium to open the Naadam festivities. NICOLAS CAGE RETURNS STOLEN DINOSAUR SKULL TO MONGOLIA
Nicolas Cage has agreed to return a rare dinosaur skull to the Mongolian government.
The Oscar-winning actor bought the Tyrannosaurus bataar skull in 2007, unaware it had been stolen.

Authorities said he voluntarily agreed to hand over the skull after learning of the circumstances.
The Con Air star bought the skull for $276,000 (£185,000) from a Beverley Hills gallery that issued him with a certificate of authenticity.
According to reports at the time, he outbid Leonardo DiCaprio for the skull.
The actor and gallery are not accused of any wrong doing.

Alex Schack, a publicist for Cage, said the actor was contacted in 2014 by the Department of Homeland Security who told him the skull might have been stolen.
When investigators determined the skull had been taken illegally from Mongolia, he agreed to give it back.
The skull will be returned to the US authorities and then repatriated to Mongolia.

The Tyrannosaurus bataar was related to the Tyrannosaurus rex and lived approximately 70 million years ago. Its remains have only been discovered in Mongolia.
Mongolia criminalised the export of dinosaur fossils in 1924.

LEONARDO DiCAPRIO DROPS $95K TO HUNT WITH FALCONS AND SLEEP IN A YURT.
Leonardo DiCaprio has plunked down a whopping $95,000 on an expedition to Mongolia, where he’ll go hunting with falcons and sleep in a “yurt” with Swedish explorer Johan Ernst Nilson.

“The Revenant” star and Oscar front-runner put in the winning bid for the expedition at amfAR’s New York gala on Wednesday.

Nilson, famed for his interest in environmental issues, will lead the 10-day journey that explores Lake Hovsgol, one of the clearest lakes in the world, nicknamed “Dark Blue Pearl of Mongolia.” Nilson tells us the trip will include horseback riding, eating with a nomadic family and “hunting with falcons.”

If they decide to do something like kayaking, DiCaprio will have lessons from a trainer.

While details of what they’ll bring will be decided, the star will be sleeping in a yurt, a traditional rounded tent.

The Hollywood star won’t totally be roughing it. A chef and other staff will travel with the pair along with local guides.

“When I do these trips,” Nilson explains, “I take people out of their comfort zone in terms of the inner journey and get them doing things they normally wouldn’t do. If you push your limits, the reward will be much higher. It’s going to be amazing.”

It is recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Cultural Event.
