We’re thrilled to share that our 5-day guide training course followed by a thrilling 3-day field trip has just concluded, and what an incredible journey it has been! 🌟

Throughout the past week, our team at Travel Buddies Mongolia had the pleasure of hosting a group of enthusiastic and passionate individuals eager to delve into the world of guiding. From mastering navigation skills to understanding the nuances of storytelling, every moment was filled with learning, growth, and adventure.

Our field trip was the cherry on top of an already enriching experience. Over the course of three days, our trainees had the opportunity to put their newfound knowledge and skills into action, guiding our guests through the breathtaking landscapes and cultural wonders of Mongolia. From the vast steppes to the ancient ruins, each location provided a unique backdrop for our trainees to showcase their talents and passion for exploration.

🌿 Exploring Mongolian Gers: A Nomadic Experience! 🏕️

Did you know that the traditional dwellings of Mongolia are called Gers? Also known as yurts, these portable homes have been an integral part of Mongolian nomadic culture for centuries!

Construction & Materials:
Mongolian Gers are typically made of a wooden frame and covered with layers of felt and canvas, creating a cozy, insulated space that can withstand the country's diverse climate. The intricate lattice structure ensures stability and allows for easy assembly and disassembly.

Build Time:
It's fascinating how quickly these homes can be set up and taken down! With the help of a nomadic community, it takes about 2-3 hours to build a Ger and even less time to dismantle. Nomads have perfected the art of constructing these homes with efficiency and precision.

7 Weeks in Mongolia 🌍✨

Embarked on a 7-week odyssey across Mongolia—an adventure that surpassed our wildest dreams. Inspired by an intrepid traveler’s vision post-COVID, we delved into the underrated corners, capturing diverse landscapes and meeting tribes of eagle hunters and reindeer herders. Meticulous planning led to the realization of our dream as we explored the Gobi Desert, the Great Gobi A & B, Ikh Mongol Nature Reserve, and western Mongolia, Taiga- concluding near the Russian border. From blooming blossoms to wild encounters with wild camels, gazelles, Saiga and the wild Takhi horse, each moment unfolded in nature’s wonders. Camel trekking in Mongol Els and nights in eagle hunter yurts and teepees enriched our journey. Spring’s freshness to summer’s warmth, our 7-week expedition was a transformative exploration of Mongolia’s landscapes and lifestyles—a true bliss etched in our hearts. 🏞️🐪🌟

Even though there was a language barries, our driver, Mogi was very thoughtful and kind. We always felt safe & comfortable in the vehicle. Nasaa was very knowledgeable and took care to make sure we were comfortable and well fed - even with the extra task of me being vegetarian, Nasaa, Mogi, and everything about this tour has exceeded our expectations.
