💪 EPIC WIN FOR OUR GIRLS - IT'S THE SEMI-FINALS FOR THE FIRST TIME!!! 💪

In their match this afternoon for a semi-final place in the Eötvös Kupa nemzetközi röplabdatorna/Eotvos Cup being held in Debrecen, Hungary, our girls faced their toughest challenge yet. Their opponents were the Serbian team Gradski Zenski Volleyball Club.

Although our girls won the first set 25-21, their opponents, an experienced and technically very competent side, managed to turn the tables on our team, winning the second set 25-15. It took every ounce of technical ability, pride, and fighting spirit for them to clinch the match's third set with the score of 15-12!

Technical Director and Head Coach Leonard said that in the end "it was the extraordinary skill and strength of character of the Phoenix girls, and the strong technical support of Assistant Coach Jacques Seifert, which carried the day, against the predictions of everybody present." He referred to the match as the most 'epic' in the history of the club's participation in the competition. "The cherry on the cake is our reaching fourth place (out of 28 participating teams) in the Cup for the first time", concluded Coach Leonard.

Our girls' participation in the Eotvos Cup is supported by our travel partner Planit Travel Services, and our club sponsors NIUM, EY Malta, Dakar Software Systems, and Bio Aqua Garden - Malta Aquaponics System.
