Have you spotted our marker of the Camino Maltés trail near the entrance?🤔Fort St. Angelo has been chosen as the twelfth and final stop in the Camino Maltés, which forms part of the European Camino de Santiago pilgrimage route, comprising of Sicily, Sardinia and Spain.

The fort was chosen because of its historical ties with the Knights of St. John and what they represent, its links with the Grand Harbour as well as the maritime city of Birgu.

Today, 𝗩𝗶𝗰𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗗𝗮𝘆, Malta is commemorating two high points in its history – the victorious end of the Great Siege on 8th September 1565, when the Ottoman forces gave up their attempts to take over the Islands after three months of relentless fighting and heavy losses, and the date when the surrender of Fascist Italy was made public in 1943, giving Malta a breather in the Second World War.
