Il Merkanti, located on the top floor of the food market on Merchant Street, truly offers a dining experience like no other. Whether it’s lunch or dinner, this place consistently exceeds expectations.
From the moment you step in, the staff’s warmth and professionalism set the tone. The menu boasts a wide variety of dishes, each cooked to perfection and served promptly. Every plate is a testament to the chefs’ expertise. The wine selection is impressive, featuring options that complement any meal. And the desserts? Simply irresistible—tempting and bursting with flavor.
Today, we had the shared meat platter, and it was absolutely incredible. The portions were generous, and every bite showcased top-quality ingredients and perfect seasoning. It’s ideal for sharing and makes for a delightful centerpiece for any meal.
Special mention goes to Bob, the waiter and barman, who is an absolute gentleman. He’s incredibly knowledgeable about food, wine, and so much more, always ready to offer great advice and enhance the dining experience. His passion and dedication shine through in every interaction.
Jake, the humble and respectful owner, plays a vital role in creating a welcoming atmosphere. His dedication to hospitality is evident in every detail, making the experience truly unique.
We never stop coming back to this place because of the way we’re treated—with so much love, dedication, and respect. It feels like more than just a meal; it’s a heartfelt experience every single time.
This restaurant is perfect for both intimate meals and larger family gatherings, as it caters to all tastes and preferences. I give it a well-deserved 20/10 for its exceptional food, service, and ambiance.
