During our journey from France to the ship for the Tonga Trench dive, we stumbled upon these little Kiwi plushies, abandoned at Auckland Airport. They quickly became part of the Deep Ocean Search (DOS) team, traveling with us to the 10,806m depth of the Tonga Trench! 🏆
Did you know it took 4 hours in the Inkfish expeditions submersible Bakunawa to reach the bottom? As Jim said, "We keep ourselves busy however we can. After three chess games, crosswords… at some point, you start talking to plushies." 🧸
And you? How would you pass the time on the way to the deepest part of the ocean? 🤿🌍

🚀 Exploration Beyond Limits!
On October 12th, our DOS engineer Jérémie Morizet will dive 10,800m into Horizon Deep, alongside Australian pilot Luke Siebermaier. Together, they will take on one of the deepest and most challenging dives in the world.
Jérémie is about to set a new record as the deepest Frenchman! 🌊
But for the moment, it's a whole team that has to prepare the airframe and the equipment. Between meetings, quality control, tests... There's a lot going on!
