The calm before the storm. 🌞 🏖️

Hurricane Beryl expected early Friday morning. Currently, it appears Tulum may be the direct hit, Akumal is north of Tulum. This will be our first Hurricane we ride out. Currently, they are expecting a category 1 or 2. We will know more by Thursday after it hits Jamaica. Prayers for all affected in the area as we prepare for expected high winds, torrential rains during this time.

🟡 ⚠️IMPORTANT! in Quintana Roo we enter YELLOW ALERT before the approaching of Hurricane Beryl. 🟡 🔜 🚨cyclone approaching. Only the west of the state remains in Green Alert.🟢

Pros and Cons on flying to Tulum versus Cancun. ✈️ I feel the drive to Akumal will be the same both ways. 🚘 Of course, the busyness of Cancun may change your mind 😵‍💫 and choosing Tulum may be a no brainer. ☮️

A few things you need to know!

The Tulum Airport is about 45 min away from the Tulum town and depending on traffic and hour or MORE to BEACH SIDE locations!

Transportation is EXPENSIVE! The airport is charging us an ADDITIONAL $60USD /$1200MXN to PICK UP people from the airport! Ita nuts!

The flights are more expensive thank flying to Cancun and so is the transportation. So for me I'd still probably fly into Cancun BUT flying into a smaller less busy airport is also very nice! Cancun is so stressful to fly into with everyone yelling at you!

Any questions? I have a lot to learn about the Tulum Airport yet!
