Happy International Women’s Day

Have you visited Isla Mujeres?
In pre-Hispanic times the island was consecrated to Ixchel, Mayan goddess of the Moon, love, and fertility. As a sanctuary dedicated to Ixchel, Mayan women had to make the pilgrimage to the island as part of their translation from girl to woman.

Today the island is a tourist heaven with beautiful beaches, restaurants and shopping. If you visit, be sure to visit the south point of the island to explore and learn about the Mayan ruins and history of island.

G has always been a little fish and has been dreaming of scuba diving for years. His first time snorkeling in Akumal (3 years ago) only made him want it more. In May, he will be 12 and finally old enough to get his certification….so this past week he took a Try Scuba class at and it’s confirmed….he’s hooked. Now he counts the days until his birthday, because he has a goal and when he sets his mind to something he doesn’t give up.
