Looks like we got on the Chica Locca for a fun day just in time before the Mariettas close for an unknown period of time.
The study found that coral is dying, garbage is being left behind and there is pollution from hydrocarbons.
Del Mazo Maza said the beach will close May 9, when a coral restoration program will begin along with a
clean-up of the area and monitoring of sea life.

Hey Everyone...It's the 16th Annual Bucerias Oyster Fest this Sunday! YUMMM!
They expect to give away five thousand oysters, 150 kilos of fried fish and 450 kilos of ground fish ceviche at playa El Punto.
The traditional contest for the Queen of the Oyster Festival will also be a part of the festivities. Meanwhile, the divers will compete to bring in the biggest oyster, for which they’ll win a complete set of scuba equipment.

5th Annual Beach Day for the Kids!!

This Saturday starting at 10:30 we are hosting our annual Beach Day for the kids from the Manos de Amor Orphanage here in Bucerias. Hot dogs, salads, snacks, dessert and drinks will be supplied to the kids. If you want to eat lunch with them you can too for a $100 donation (all proceeds go to the orphanage). This is fun event that the kids really enjoy.

In order to make their day more special I have two requests.

1) If anyone has anything that they would like to donate for us to auction off at our silent auction, please let me know.

2) if anyone has a contact for the "banana boat" guy, please let me know.

Today, the Fashion Show Committee held their final meeting in regards to the 2016 fashion show. We are pleased to announce that the funds raised from this year's show was a whopping $169,635,00 pesos!! We currently have 14 young ladies in University now with a waiting list of 12 more on the table. After the interviews are conducted with the 12 new applicants, we hope to accept all 12 for our future recipients of university grants.
