En nuestras aguas viven diferentes especies de delfines, pero los que vemos con mayor frecuencia son la Tonina (Tursiops truncatus), como en el caso de estas fotos, y el Delfín común (Delphinus delphis).

🇲🇽Os presentamos a BALYENA-PH242. Se trata de un individuo de Ballena jorobada que pudimos identificar a bordo gracias al trabajo de fotoidentificación de

Pero, ¿por qué os estamos hablando concretamente de Balyena? Pues porque se trata del animal que ha batido el récord de distancia realizando la travesía más larga que se ha logrado identificar, nada más y nada menos que 12.745km, distancia que separa Cagayan valley (Filipinas) de Cabo San Lucas (México), pudiendo ser identificada el 3 de Marzo del 2015 en Filipinas y el 3 de Marzo del 2023 en nuestras aguas.

Nuestra hipótesis, es que con alta probabilidad, este animal no realizó esta travesía en línea recta, por lo que muy probablemente realizó una migración todavía mayor, ¡Es toda una viajera!

Esperamos volver a encontrarnos con ella la próxima temporada, hasta entonces, le deseamos el mejor de los viajes 🐋

🇺🇸 🇲🇽 We introduce you to BALYENA-PH242. It is an individual humpback whale that we were able to identify on board thanks to the photo identification work of

But, why are we talking about Balyena specifically? Well, because it is the animal that has broken the distance record making the longest journey that has been identified, 12,745km, the distance that separates Cagayan valley (Philippines) from Cabo San Lucas (Mexico), being able to be identified on March 3, 2015 in the Philippines and on March 3, 2023 in our waters.

Our hypothesis is that with a high probability, this animal did not make this journey in a straight line, so it most likely made an even greater migration. It is quite a traveler!

We hope to meet her again next season, until then, we wish her the best of trips 🐋

Since 2014 we were able to identify 3124 marine mammals from 4 different species (Humpback whale, Gray whale, Blue whale and Bottle nose dolphin) with the help of

We were collaborating with this project and their mission to try to outreach and educate to make everyone understand and care about this magnificent animals, creating high quality conservation, matching
with some of our main values as an ecoturism company.

The Humpback whales is the specie that we identify the most, not just because we are in their migration route to their breeding grounds, but also because they are more easy to identify than the rest. With the mix between their shape and their pattern of coloration of their caudal fin, we can check the individual that we are seeing or discover new animals that were never identify before. Also, different marks around their bodies can help to the task too.

For this last season we were able to get in touch with 4.000 of you. We are so grateful for that, not just because we could share some time with you, but also because we were able to keep working in our main values: education and conservation.
Each one of you become the key of the change, because sharing with all of your beloved ones everything that you saw and learned about this amazing creatures, is going to help them to be more protected. Spreading and falling in love with them, is the first step to preserve them.
We just have to say THANK YOU to all of you, and that we can’t wait longer to see you and the whales again.
For the moment they have to go to eat (as you already know😉) but we will receive them with the arms open next season. We are already waiting for you little ones 👐🏼🐋

Sad news from the ocean today. We came across a calf humpback whale that had been injured by a boat propeller - a stark reminder of the importance of responsible whale-watching practices. We're taking pictures and monitoring the little one's progress, keeping an eye out for any parasites and checking whether the calf and mother are losing weight. It's a heart-wrenching situation, and we don't know if the baby whale will survive. Let's all do our part to protect these magnificent creatures and their home in the ocean.

Meet Lily! She was first spotted in Nayarit, Mexico in 2012 and we met her when she came to Baja in 2021. Her feeding grounds are in Northern California, near Sacramento. Thanks to a unique patterns on a humpback whale tail we can identify her, and track her whereabouts. Isn’t that amazing? 🐋

Whale identified by happywhale as CRC-11685 since 2003.

That whale probably survived an orca attack, in the picture, it is possible to see the teeth scars on the tail.

We are at the beginning of the season, came to join us to see those beautiful animals.

Whales are in Cabo and Cabo trek is ready to bring our guests to watch their complex behavior in the mating grounds.

Today morning we went out on a wildlife tour, the sea was flat, no wind and warm, great conditions to spot sea animals.

We were navigating to the Pacific side when Capitan Freddy spotted a group of 5 humpback whales close to “Faro Viejo”.

In the beginning, They were taking shallow dives moving close to the shore then they moved from less than 1 mile to 2 miles away from the coast, and there, they gave us a beautiful show.

All displays are for mating purposes, the males in the competitive Pod compete for the position next to the female, and the male close to the female called the principal es**rt, defends his position. This behavior is quite aggressive and we registered that wild and fantastic moment.
