Hey Dancing, Traveling, and/or Yogi Friends,

I hope you are thriving.

I just want to remind you about the Yoga & Salsa Dance Retreat here in Puerto Vallarta November 15-22.

I've been living here for the past 3 years, know this city pretty well, and am excited to share it with you.☀️🏝️

Besides daily yoga and dance classes, we will be spending a day on a boat, snorkeling, hiking, swimming, spending relaxing time on the beach and/or near the pool at our villa.
We will be tasting delicious Mexican food including fresh fish and seafood.
We will experience a nearby Pueblo Mágico, visit some markets with beautiful handmade crafts, and receive (optional) massage.

You can make this week as busy or relaxing as you like, everything is optional.

Hello friends that have donated to programs that I support in Kenya, those of you that haven't yet but want to donate, and those of you that will donate someday when the cash is flowing,

You may have heard that Kenya is currently experiencing some serious flooding. In a country where most people already struggle tremendously, loss of their homes due to the floods is beyond.

A few months ago we were buying plastic tarps to put over the manyattas (huts) in Samburu, but now the manyattas themselves are being washed away.

We're still trying to help this little family finish their house so they can be safe and dry.

We're helping a Maasai complete college (the first in his community to go to University and the second to complete high school). His goal is to pull his siblings and others through school after him so that they can provide options & sustenance for their community.

Hello my Friends,

I will be hosting (and teaching yoga at) a Yoga & Salsa Dance Retreat in Mexico!

November 15 to 22, 2024.

We will stay at a beautiful villa right in Old Town Vallarta.

We will be doing daily yoga classes as well as Salsa and Bachata taught by master Cuban and Mexican teachers.
We will spend time at beautiful beaches, snorkel, hike, spend a day on a boat visiting with whales and dolphins, explore a nearby Pueblo, take a taco tour, check out the markets, do some social dancing in local clubs, attend a Zumba class, and still have some downtime during which you can receive massage or simply read a book by the pool.

Lodging at the villa is on a first-come first-serve basis. There are four beautiful rooms available for double occupancy. Once those rooms are full we will occupy nearby hotels.

The retreat is limited to 10 people. 

The cost is $2,325 and includes classes, excursions, lodging, all breakfasts, a couple of lunches, and most dinners, leaving some opportunities to taste some of the fabulous restaurants here in PV.

A $500 deposit holds your place and gives you room choice.

This is Ramson. He is a Massai from Amboseli in Kenya that Anjali and I met when we bought some bracelets from him in Shela last summer.

Like many Massai, he travels to the tourist areas of the country to sell his family's beadwork because herding animals no longer supports them.

His father has 21 children with three wives.

Ramson is the second one in his community to graduate from high school, (along with a girl who was then married off and not allowed to continue her education) and the first to attend college.

His goal is to be a procurement officer and he says he plans to have only one wife and only three children. 😁

We were able to support him in attending this last semester at University, but he needs some more support to be able to continue. He is responsible for supporting his family and will have to drop out of school and go back to work if there isn't enough money for him to attend college.
He is more than halfway through.
Tuition is $210 USD a semester.

While leaving here in Boipeba we used to celebrate the full moon with a bonfire and friends on the beach. Francisco Xavier Dos Santos & Anjali Figueira got it going and people would show up with food & instruments.
Sometimes we'd swim.

Juliana and I have been friends for 19 years - one of my first friends here in Boipeba.
Yesterday we celebrated her birthday by taking a boat to the other side of the island to snorkel and swim.
I used to live here. Ran my B&B, taught yoga & dance, gave massage, homeschooled my kid. 😅
What an amazing place to have called home for 11 years. 🏝️🇧🇷💛

Hey friends, if you are looking for a place for a fabulous vacation this winter on a beautiful tropical island with gorgeous beaches, delicious food, and lovely friendly people, check out Boipeba island in Bahia, Brazil.

I have a home and some guestrooms and will be there for the months of January through March.

I'm renting my guestrooms on a longer basis (two weeks to three months) and can be available to assist you in your trip down as well as organize your travels around Bahia or to simply stay on our lovely island for the entire time.

I have one guest room available for $700 a month. It's a spacious room with a little kitchen and a large veranda with a hammock, chairs and a table, and a beautiful view of the jungle. We are located right off Outeiro Beach and within walking distance of six other beaches.

I'll be organizing a few little trips to other villages and possibly some hikes and adventures, depending on interest. 🇧🇷🏝️👙☀️🌊
