She is a Global Citizen

She is a Global Citizen Small group travel for women over 50 seeking luxury travel experiences and cultural intelligence. Awareness is the first step, but that is not enough.

Cultural intelligence is the capability to relate, travel and work effectively in culturally diverse situations. A culturally intelligent individual is not only aware, but can also effectively work and relate with people and projects across different cultural contexts. Without knowledge of how culture affects your own and others’ behavior, you interpret the world through your own cultural lens, fa

iling to attribute differences in behaviors and beliefs to cultural influences. Cultural intelligence helps you to overcome cultural blind spots. You can better explain and predict the responses of others and thereby prevent confusion and anxiety and the activation of negative stereotypes and biases in diverse cultural settings. Cultural intelligence training transfers the knowledge, skills and abilities required to live and manage in any new cultural setting. As a workshop participant you will acquire a broad worldview and a flexible behavioral repository. This averts cultural stereotyping and prepares you for effectiveness across varied contexts.

“The house is full of quirky objects” Paula Sutton, 54, says of Hill House, the Georgian property she lives in in Norfolk with her husband and children, Tobias, 22, and twins Daisy and Phoebe, 20. “Some are useful, some are more decorative, but they are all beautiful to me.” In the living room, a working candlestick telephone stands next to a Victorian armchair reupholstered in a red and white gingham, while an old hunting horn rests on a pile of books next to her father’s chess set, which she admits she doesn’t play.

Located in the middle of a valley, surrounded by mountains, and crossed by a river, Santiago—Chile's capital—is emerging as a vibrant and cosmopolitan city. Its strategic location allows you to be atop the Andes in the morning and just hours later watching the sunset at the Pacific Ocean. To begin with, if you want to enter Chile as a foreigner, it is important to know: To be in Chile for less than 90 days (transitional stay), nationals of countries that require it must apply for prior authorization or visa through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. For periods longer than 90 days (temporary or permanent residence), the person who processes the applications is the National Migration Service dependent on the Ministry of the Interior.

Situated on the subtropical Costa del Sol, Andalusia boasts stunning scenery, captivating history and one of the mildest winters in Europe. Bordered by mountains and the Mediterranean Sea, Southern Spain’s culture emerges in elaborate Moorish architecture, lush olive tree groves, fiery Flamenco and savory Spanish cuisine.

Before World War I, you didn’t need a passport to travel internationally. It was a self-evident truth that a sovereign individual could travel anywhere he wanted without asking for anyone’s permission. Unfortunately, that’s not how travel works today. Among other things, having a second passport allows you to invest, bank, travel, live, and do business in places you wouldn’t otherwise be able to.

Holland America is offering two solar eclipse cruise itineraries that will take guests directly into the path of totality, where the sun goes completely dark as the moon crosses in front of it. What makes cruising a particularly good option for solar eclipse viewing is that the ship can easily reposition if clouds get in the way.

Holland America will send two ships to the path of totality next year off the western coast of Mexico.
