“Cantinas” an emblem of México

Spend the night experiencing different “Cantinas”, Mexican taverns that have a unique mix between the old and modern, places full of Mexican culture and history. As a result of progress and industrialization in Mexico, the working class and the middle class emerged. Thanks to that the cantinas emerged in the late 19th and early 20th centuries, surviving the dictatorship of Porfirio Díaz, the Mexican Revolution and the Cristero War.

These places were usually located in neo-colonial buildings in the areas of transit and commerce of those times, what we now know as the historic center. On this tour, you will have private transportation taking you to the cantinas which are frequented by the Tapatíos (Spanish word for Guadalajaran locals).

You will try snacks and drinks typical of the region, like torta ahogada, tostadas, cueritos, churritos, tequila, beer, yerbabuena, charro negro, sangría and paloma. In “Cantinas” there is no discrimination; they are well known for their friendly and lively atmosphere. You can chat with friends, colleagues or the love of your life, but also sing and dance the night away. It is common to find a pianist playing or regional music bands as the “norteño” or “mariachi;” of course, there is usually at least one person in the group who sings a ca****la after a few good tequilas.
