More than 6 thousand people enjoy the spectacular Coronation Gala of the Carnival Isla Mujeres

Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo, March 01, 2025. - In front of more than six thousand people in the Municipal Explanade, last night the Gala Coronation of the sovereigns of the Carnival Isla Mujeres "The Elements of the Caribbean" 2025, Raúl Antonio Valdez Canul and Merly Dennis Parra Briceño, an evening that ended with the stellar presentation of Nelson Kanzela & Holy Land Band

Municipal President, Atenea Gomez Ricalde, led the Coronation Ceremony and Imposition of Band to the Town Kings Dennis I and Raúl I; Youth Kings Daylin I and Ian and the Queen of Diversity: Dairany del Mar I.

In a completely full Municipal Esplanade, the island mayor thanked the presence of everyone, highlighting the importance of Carnival as a celebration of identity, inclusion and joy for island families.

One of the most emotional moments of the night was the farewell runway for the Carnival Kings 2024 who with gratitude and enthusiasm cededed their reign to the new rulers. Alonso Diaz and Ximena Martinez, as well as the sovereigns of previous years, received recognition from the public for their outstanding participation in the previous edition.

Also, a promotional video of Carnival 2025, was projected, to highlight to tourists and visitors the importance of this holiday and the enthusiasm with which the islanders celebrate it year after year.

The expected moment was the presentation of the bandits of the Kings of the People, who showed enthusiasm, color and joy together with their band Simbora.

The night ended with the participation of the renowned artist Nelson Kanzela, who made the attendees dance with his rhythm, followed by a stellar performance by the group Tierra Sagrada, who closed the night with the best of their musical repertoire.

The Government of Isla Mujeres, reaffirms its commitment to culture and traditions, to provide citizens and tourists, quality events for this tourist destination.

TOURISTS RENTING GOLF CARTS: There are too many golf carts accidents on the island and injuring locals on their scooters because you are doing sudden U-turns. NEVER DO U-TURNS ON THE ISLAND!!!! If you missed your turn, go on down the road until you can turn left/right and loop back. But do NOT do U-turns in the middle of the roads. Every day the ambulance goes past 1-2 times and it is always a tourist wrecked a golf cart and injured someone. I have been hit by U-turns 😞

Use your arm to signal your turns... if you are turning left, stick your left arm out and point to the left. Have your passenger stick their right arm out to signal turn that direction.

Stay as far right to the right/shoulder of the road as possible when driving!! Taxi's and scooters will pass you (because you are going 20 km and slow). Do not drive in the middle... do not be weaving... and do not U-turn!!!

You must have a drivers license to drive... 16 years old. DO NOT LET CHILDREN DRIVE THE GOLF CART. It is illegal and this is not Disneyland. Do you want you and your child to go to Mexico jail because they are illegally driving and hit someone and injure them?

No drinking and driving... and I will warn you that once again the police are beginning to have road blocks and check for sobriety. It will ruin your trip when you are taken to jail.

Condition of your golf cart rental... please check the condition of the golf cart that you are renting BEFORE you take it. If the tires are bad, not in alignment (have seen carts driving down the road that the tires and leaning sideways), brakes don't work, no rear view mirror, lights don't work, breaks, too much laxity/movement in the steering wheel, broken parts hanging off of it, etc. Police have also done roadblocks and confiscating golf carts in bad condition. So you may be walking and without a cart the rest of the day/trip until the rental company gives you another one.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE... be more considerate whether you are a day-timer from Cancun or staying several days on the island. Please stop this trend of dangerous golf cart rental drivers.

The Helsinki-Toronto flight was loaded with 400 passengers and only 200 lunches. The airline made a mistake and the crew was in a difficult situation. However, an intelligent flight attendant has come up with an idea. About 30 minutes after take-off, she announced:
"Ladies and gentlemen, I don't know how this happened, but we have 400 passengers on board and only 200 lunches!" “Anyone who is kind enough to give up food for someone else will receive a free unlimited amount of wine throughout the flight.”
Her next announcement was made 6 hours later: "Ladies and Gentlemen, if anyone wants to change their mind, we still have 200 lunches available!" "
Moral of the story: wine drinkers have a very big and kind soul!😊
