“We have visited isla many times over the last 8 years, Hailey's house is amazing!!! Amzing views, quiet, perfect layout... Hailey herself is an amzing host!!! Might I add the beds are soooo comfy!!!! We slept great the whole 8 days we were there!!!!”

Come and visit before whale shark season is over in September. Otherwise October and November are perfect months. Oh wait, every month here is fantastic!🏝

Girls trip anyone???🐠🏝🌮

I booked this house for a girl’s trip to celebrate birthdays. The house was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The kitchen was well stocked. We cooked breakfast at the house and made pico and guacamole. The house is located on a quiet part of the island which we enjoyed. We rented a golf cart and were on our way to wherever we wanted to go! Most important was we felt safe. Hailey the owner of the house was super nice and helpful and the house manager, Memo, was able to help us with whatever we needed. We are already planning “Girl’s Trip 2020” and will definitely consider this property as an option.

“Casa Vista del Mar is amazing! Although the pictures are gorgeous, they frankly do not do the home justice. Everything about the house is perfect - especially the location, which is IDEAL. It is far away from the hustle-and-bustle of the north end of the island, but close to many activities, and the home itself could not be more perfectly situated. It is one of the highest structures on the south end of the island, so the views to east, west, and south are phenomenal... We spent a ton of time on the roof-top deck, which is furnished with very nice outdoor furniture, making it a wonderful place to watch sunsets AND sunrises. Additionally, every aspect of the home is thoughtfully appointed. The towels and sheets are lovely, the kitchen has everything necessary for cooking (we prefer to do our own cooking rather than eating out, and had no problem getting groceries from the supermarket (fun drive in the golf cart!)). We had a very easy time finding the home, and Memo was there to meet us, to give us a thorough tour of every aspect of the house, so that we felt immediately comfortable and at home. Communication with Hailey was super easy and she provided a wealth of helpful information that made our stay much more enjoyable (such as thorough restaurant recommendations, tips on how to get around, where to go, and what to do, that was accurate and very helpful in deciding what would work best for our family). I can't say enough good things about Casa Vista del Mar. We have stayed at somewhere between 7 and 10 different Airbnbs in the US, Mexico, and Europe, and this place was all around the best we've stayed in. Thank you so much, Hailey, for providing such a comfortable, clean, and beautiful base for our adventure!!”

Thank you so much for having us!! Casa Vista del Mar was perfect for 3 adult couples!! Location was so convenient to enjoy the Island Time Music Festival activities as most were on the south end. By far my favorite place we’ve stayed in 5 trips! 😊 Not having the street noise is incredible!! We stayed at Isla 33 last July for 10 days and I was surprised at how loud the street was at all hours. I would love to come back with our kids next summer! Thanks again for your hospitality.

Our stay at Casa Vista del Mar was absolutely wonderful. The views from all bedrooms and the roof top are magnificent. The pool is clean and refreshing after a hot day exploring the island. The house is clean, comfortable, and nicely furnished. The property manager, M###, is very helpful and easy to get a hold of. The property owners are also easy to communicate with and quick to respond.
We really enjoyed how peaceful the south end of the island is, especially at night. It is tranquil, but still a quick cab or golf-cart ride wherever you need to go. The variety and quality of food and restaurants is amazing for such a small island. Also, the beaches of Isla Mujeres are excellent and not overly-crowded. We will definitely be back.

Behind the name Isla Mujeres:
In front of the north coast of Quintana Roo resides, hidden on the horizon, an island of incomparable beauty. Isla Mujeres is known internationally as one of the most beautiful islands of the Caribbean and considered a must for those who spend a vacation in the Riviera Maya. Over time, it has become one of the most visited destinations, not only for its beautiful beaches, its breathtaking sunsets or its picturesque streets but also for an impressive history that transports you on a trip to the past, managing to surround you in the most interesting aspects of the ancient Mayan civilization. The name is an attractive one, which encourages us to think about the femininity and even the sensuality of women, but where does this peculiar name come from?

Its original name, the one that it was known by the Mayan civilization remains unknown. Keeping, even after all these years, the name given by the Spaniards after discovering it in 1517 during the first expeditions led by Francisco Hernández de Córdoba but it is known that it used to belong to the Mayan province known as “Ekab”. However, the island was destined to be a sanctuary of veneration, where the ancient Mayans traveled to pay honor and offerings to an important figure.

The island housed a population limited to being only for the believers and worshipers of Ixchel, Mayan goddess of the moon, love, and fertility. Even being a tradition for the women of the ancient Mayan civilization to make a pilgrimage to the temple of the goddess as a kind of initiation, a journey that represented their transition from girls to women. It was customary to make offerings with handcrafted pieces resulting on female figures that were placed throughout the island, for that reason, when the Spaniards arrived and encountered these figures, they did not hesitate to baptize it as Isla Mujeres.

Due to its location, it is believed that since ancient times it has played a particular role as a strategic location facing the Caribbean and as one of the cornerstones of commerce in pre-Hispanic times, even becoming a refuge for famous pirates. In more recent times, the celebrations with focus on the female figure have continued, being among the most popular the celebration towards the Immaculate Conception Virgin, patron saint of the island, also as a result of miscegenation.

Throughout its small extension, you will find archaeological sites such as the temple of Punta Sur, which seek to preserve those vestiges of the past. And of course, you will also find options for fun such as parks, beach clubs, restaurants and hotels with the guarantee of a quality service.
