First stop - Punta Perula - anchored lunch and a cold adult bevererge! Lovely Sierra Mackrel thanks to and caught by our amigo David Hug aka “Sand Crab”. Five and a half outs down, 12 more hours to go - another early morning before the wind picks up tomorrow!

Sunrise and Baja Fog is off to Puerto Vallarta for her “Quadra annual” haul out. Upon checking out the Port Captain looked at our last Zarpe and said,”Are you sure this is the latest one?” Yep, Baja Fog has gone all over the the Costalegre Coast for the last 4 years but we’ve never left our home port!

Dear friends,

We live in Barra de Navidad, a small coastal town in Mexico, off the beaten path, and a jewel in the cruising and Mexican boating world. The parents and teachers of the community are responsible for funding the schools to purchase capital equipment, make building repairs, refresh educational materials, and create a safe, healthy, and clean environment for learning. Our cruising community helps the parents with the annual Cruise-In Week and Flamingo Regatta by volunteering our time, energy, and boats to take passengers who donate for tickets on a sail and by having a sailboat race – the Flamingo Regatta.

I’m asking YOU to help by sponsoring our boat in the other race again – the MONEY RACE – by donating whatever you can in the name of our boat, BAJA FOG. Even $10 or $25 will help! The three boats with the most donations will win a prize! You have all been amazing in your donations in the past setting us apart and giving us the win the last couple years, let’s do it again!

A grass-roots, volunteer group provides oversight to every step of the fund collection, distribution, and spending. First – the schools request funds in writing for specific purposes. The Cruise-In Week organizers provide a “big check” to the schools who display that prominently to let parents know how much money their school received. The school directors then provide bids to receive the funds, and finally must show receipts for how they were spent to receive their funds.

If you can help, donations can be made through PayPal or Zelle to Linda Bello-Ruiz (her FaceBook profile includes several public posts about past events https://www.facebook.com/lmbelloruiz?sfnsn=scwspmo&mibextid=RUbZ1f)
